I am sceptic, even some tunes are OK, even cold Nordic melancholy and emotions into music, its not as I expected , I hope non of those guys will join in Amorphis as singer.

I am a huge fan of Esa. I have studied his work in each of his projects for years now and thus I was very hyped for "Silver Lake". I am also a fan of most of the singers participated : Jonas, Tomi ofc and Bjorn. Everyone else is also sympathetic to me. Although the final result is not something I really enjoyed. Yes there are trademark Esa riffs, yes there are warm tunes and yes the vocals are great. Although, I missed a single memorable riff, rhythm, part, song, something. It was bland and always there is something that draw my attention when he writes music. All in all what I listened was a collection of modern alternative tunes that in my opinion does not represent Esa as a musician, at least for the part of Esa I adored. If I had to distinguish some highlights I would say " In Her Solitude" a modern style Amorphis song, "Promising Sun" where I was amazed of how suitable Bjorn's voice can be in a style like this and maybe "Storm" because it captures the essense of the album. Too bad I did not like the songs with Jonas, who was my favorite...
