22.04.2007 - 05:10 Written by Oracle on 22.04.2007 at 04:12 Kivimetsän Druidi is something like this: Key-vee-met-san Droo-ee-dee - all vowels are short (pronounced fast) - 'key' & 'vee' are supposed to rhyme - san is pronounced like "sand" without the 'd' - droo like "drool" without the 'l' Actually, I could just record me saying that... Here it is: Download (.wav file)

They really picked the wrong name for their band...adagio means to play the music slowly and what do they do? Play a shitload of fast fluttering notes together in one bar after another...I dunno...maybe the tempo isn't fast and that's what they mean by calling themselves Adagio...or maybe it's just a coincidence instead of a contradiction...?

@Kap'N korrupt: I never really thought about it like that. i guess Adagio's music is fast but it could be slow too if you compare them to other bands but i havent really done that so i wouldnt know Lol. maybe they called themselves Adagio because their music is well controlled and graceful. im just guessing. but like i said i wouldnt know Lol.

How do you pronounce Agathodaimon? Every time I talk to anybody about the band, I just have to spell it out for them. I don't know if it's AgathodAYmon, or AgathodIEmon.

01.05.2007 - 01:19 Written by Sunioj on 30.04.2007 at 02:32 I actually say 'wa-tain' with a w instead of a v but I don't know for sure. Written by Sunioj on 22.04.2007 at 19:29 I and those whom I have met say 'Zas-thur'. Written by Doc G. on 30.04.2007 at 10:01 I've always pronounced the word 'cthonic' as 'ker-thon-ic' although the first syllable is a short sound with not much of a stress.

It's weird to hear that someone actually thinks it's "Duke" on the end, I'd never imagine it to be pronounced that way...

Mar-duck sounds more sensible to me too. In the Tekken games 4 and 5 there is a character/fighter called Craig Marduk and at least his name is pronounced like that. Hopefully that helps.

01.05.2007 - 17:08 Written by Cryogenic_Death on 30.04.2007 at 09:42 It's actually more like Sasther. With a Z-esque first S. There is a youtube video - http://youtube.com/watch?v=AGh6W7R6PrI - of it being pronounced. It's said right at the start.

01.05.2007 - 23:46 Written by Raiden on 01.05.2007 at 17:08 That's a bit different as I pronounce it, I use a bit more of a 'K' with the 'Z/S'. Not a big difference though. Thanks for posting that, though I don't really like Xasthur anyway. This video is quite good.

02.05.2007 - 22:31 Written by Graveheart on 01.05.2007 at 15:45 If Marduk takes the name straight from Babylonian mythology, then I believe it's mahr-dook. A few years ago I saw a historical documentary where everyone pronounced it this way, but unfortunately I have no idea what the documentary's name is. And, I've seen different spellings listed elsewhere too.
