Seeing as metal has reached a point where it feels like there’s no more seismic leaps into hitherto unknown genres left to take, one is left to ponder which novelty fusion band has the potential to inspire a trend. Some unusual hits end up as one-offs (note the lack of Zeal & Ardor clones), but while one swallow doesn’t make a summer, two might be an omen of more to come, as Ode And Elegy and now Anareta suggest.

This is such an interesting album, the classic orchestral instrumentation works wonders alongside the blackened elements here. The production has such an authenticity about it, as if it really feels like your listening to them live right in front of you.

Absolutely all for the idea of combining authentic classical chamber music style with elements of black metal, doom and sludge. In my opinion, they score top marks in originality and musicianship. All that being said, this doesn't mean I think it sounds good...

Frozen Wasteland was a nice intro, and the last two tracks were decent. I did mostly enjoy Black Snake. But the other three tracks were less enjoyable, despite the quality musicianship. I think a lot of this is owed to the production value chosen for this album. Was not for me.
