Some how seems a bit rasistic to me ?

Well they're NSBM, so I guess it's more than a bit racist actually...
Anyway, when I saw that cover for the first time I couldn't hold back my laughter, these guys sure have mastered the art of subtlety... (or guy, don't remember whether it was a one-man band).

I was just thinking the same thing.

This Thor's Hammer cover really is a horrible amaeturish photoshop mishmash, failing in every sense artistically. Only reason I can think of why people might like this shit is it's shallow shock value.

I'm not going to post a picture, cause it wouldn't do it any justice.

I own the original vinyl. It's sweet, because the front is cut out to look like the frame of a mirror, and then they stuck a warped reflective mirror inside it, so it looks like you're looking at a mutated version of yourself in the cover.

Oh yeah, and then you start the record. But that's a story for another day.

Celtic Frost's 'Emperor's Return.' I just love the look of it, fantasy. Reminds me of Conan art, which I love.

Check out Autopsy: Severed Survival, not the cover posted on their profile's discography though. There's another one set in a hospital setting like you're about to go into surgery performed by these crazy looking zombie guys. It's got a real death metal look to it but with some comedy and creativity added in to make a really unique cover.

Ok, perhaps it may be Municipal Wastes "The Art Of Partying". Not only does it have the sweetest looking party ever on the front cover, the little details are sweet, like some guy getting his throat bitten open, another guy who seems to be partially decapitated, and another guy getting beat with a chair in the background. Whoever the artist is that does this cover is a freaking genius.

amusing non-metal band for covers is The Dwarves.

Not going to post them, you can find them all via wikipedia here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dwarves_(band) but the sequence:

"Blood, Guts, and Pussy" features two nekkid chicks covered in blood (naughty bits visible), along with a dwarf, also covered in blood, who looks like he's trying to fuck a stuffed rabbit.

"Come Clean" - released years later - features two nekkid chicks and a dwarf, all lathered in soap with soap bubbles in the air.

(The Dwarves) "Must Die" features nekkid chicks (three this time!) all sad and crying because the dwarf (same dude in the prior two) is tied to a cross. At least he's not nekkid this time.

That is a nice cover.i don't like painted covers but this one is different. i enjoyed the location, bleeding and puking, and no naked woman

however for mine has a naked woman... so here is my favorite cover, which belongs to Alien Vampires, its called "Nun are Pregnant" ... i dont like the cockroaches but the nun is alright

For some reason that cover reminds me of Doom (the video game)....even though they didn't have pregnant vampire nuns in it....

Ken Kelly's original piece "Revenge of the Viking" was used for The Gates of Slumber's sophomore release 'Suffer No Guilt,' and rightfully so! It kicks ass!

Was there ever a category of best album cover on the metalstorm awards? i'm asking this cuz i vaguely remember something about the winner of 2004 or before, and it was a leafless tree on a sunset, it was pretty cool but i don't remember the band.
