Well, Paradise Lost is one ofteh biggest bands out there, and according to some people, the fathers of Gothic metal. And they have don some experimets, chang their style a couple times. This is simple. Which one of the three Paradise Lost "eras" is the best and why?

My choice: Electro Gothic era. 'cause to be honest I neergot into the first three albums, and even if I love the new sound I still prefer the electro stuff, it made them really unique, thers no band that sounds like PL in that era. Not that I know at least.

Don't forget, ladies and gentlemen, to give arguments.

I was thinking the same thing... But then again I jsut gonna put the doom gothic era and include the debut on it [even if the debut isn't gothic]

Damn.... they really did good stuff. But after Draconian Times it was meh. The funny thing is that all the albums after Draconian Time were boring or just uninspired except Host which is the album with the most electronic stuff going on. I don't know why, but I like that album. But the rest is meh, It's not bad executed, but just uninspiring.

Firts 5 albums only , its trOO death/doom albums, amazing, legendary and greta, onlyw aht I like from band, so no doubt I vote for it and yes I hate band nowdays and never will forgive to band those changes

Well, you can include in teh 1st era I guess, as it was only one album....
Can only one album count as an "era"? I don't really think so Marcel...

Their first album is an era on its own to me.
I only like their early work 'till 92.
Didn' t even bother to listen to their last full length.

I love all eras of PL (the midle not so much) but surely the first was the best...

Doom Gothic (1990 - 1995),for me golden age,i would like thay didn't change.

I pretty much have to go with their early doom era myself, even though I really liked their newest release Tragic Idol.

I only recently started listening to paradise lost but im loving their latest album.

Personally I prefer their electro gothic era. Their early doom death albums were influential and innovative then, but have had many followers, and I think other bands have done that better later, especially Cemetary on their Godless Beauty. When talking goth I prefer Type O Negative over PL. Personally I think their electro stuff sounds more interesting today, since I don't know any other bands who has done something similar in a better way.
