but that sounds really strange...

Why strange? For me it sounds normal...it seems to me as being the only possible way to pronounce it....G-War would sound just too bad.....

Do all bands need to have English names....sorry....I'm able to speak the language though I rather dislike English..Gwar....even if it were an English word it should be pronounced GWAR not GeWAR.....because there's a fucking W after G.....G is usually pronounced as a G(like in Guns and Roses) if there's an U, EE(GEEK), A or some other such letter there.....it's different in words GESTURE and GIST...there you have the G-Unit G.....but W is a bloody consonant....you CAN'T possibly pronounce the G other way....Guns and Roses G is the ONLY opportunity here.....like in the GUARDIAN......there's no other way....saying some other way is just plain WRONG.....
yeh....I don't know if you're stoned or drunk or something like that but this "non-english" thing here is silly....you don't know yourself what you're actually speaking about....I do hope I was able to explain to you why you CAN'T pronounce it like you wanted.....I would never have even thought of it myself....
So much that I can recall the only cases where G was like in G-Unit were when there occurred an E or an I after G......
Don't dare to challenge me here any more...I hope you received a lesson....trust me....I know English fairly well to sense what is normal.....

well...i just wonder what you wanted to send word to me in this last post

i accept i'm not any expert in english and i know i'll never be, because it will be forever foreign language for me born in Czech Republic, but if you have better luck and you know it better, why you shouldn't just explain me, why i'm not right? why you have to act with me like i'm some fckin idiot totally out of point?

you gave me a lesson...pfff...only "lesson" you gave me is, that now i have an oppinion about you...and it is unflattering...i wish you nice day and more people you annoy this way

you see? that is that, what i wanted to hear, when i posted my question...not any bullshits about being drunked or reciving a lesson :-?

and you know what is the worse? that the problem maybe in the reposting of the pronounciation...because if i write - it is pronounce like "g", people in english speaking country will pronounce "g" different from the same letter "g" we have in czech language...and so this "gu" Frodo has written may be something else i have on mind when i say these two letters in czech...

Calm down...Gosh, I never wanted to make you feel bad....don't feel bad now, promise me, aye...
I was just in a fierce mood and there's the reason why I wrote that way...perhaps it did seem you as if I were attacking you...I wasn't...I was just heartily explaining...

Don't think you're stupid....you aren't...you had your doubts...I hope you know now what the right way is...and btw...I never said you were stupid....if I were speaking about being drunk or stoned then I didn't mean it that way.....
Don't worry....I'm sorry if you had to feel bad because of my post....

That's strange, I've always thought it was Sui (As in chop-sui)-duk (like duck)-rah, but I wouldn't know for sure, whether that's 100% correct.

About Suidakra, I usually say something like Soo-ee-dack-ra.

None of the previously posted versions of Korpiklaani look correct to me. I'm sure there are already numerous messages about Korpiklaani in this thread, but here's the correct pronunciation in audio form (mp3): Download

Celtic Frost. I've been pronouncing it with a "k" sound all my life, but recently i've heard the word celtic said differently. with a "s" like sound.

The ONLY instance van Celtic is pronounced as Seltic and not Keltic is when referring to the Scottish football club called Celtic. In ALL OTHER instances it is pronounced Keltic.

but seltic sounds much better than keltic i keep saying seltic^^

Seltic is the pronounciation in French......but regarding the fact that the word Celt comes from Greek/Celtic word Keltoí which begins with K as you all see, Keltic would be the most correct way of pronouncing.....

Thing is simply that the football team is indeed mostly pronounced Seltic.....however, Celtic when speaking of nationality and culture is with K.....and I think that Celtic Frost doesn't sing about football team.....

I'm not sure how to pronounce Negura Bunget(not sure if I do it correctly).

Negurö Bund?et......the a in the end of Negura isn't actually a normal a....it has some mark above it which alters the prnounciation......ge is always pronounced as in jellyfish....because it's a Romance language so the rules are somewhat similar to Italian.....I made some research.....

Ok, thanks, I actually pronounced it wrong before. I didn't think of the the fact that it is a Romance language, but are you sure? Because as far as I know it is in Dacian language, which was supposed to be similar to Thracian language(I think it is related to Greek, but I might be mistaken), which was spoken around and north of the Balkan area as far as I know. But as I haven't done much research I don't really know very much about linguistics.

I used to pronounce it just it was a name in my mother tongue.

But as I haven't done much research I don't really know very much about linguistics.

I used to pronounce it just it was a name in my mother tongue.

Romanian is Romance....hence the name...ROMANian.....it's Italic in its essence...as are all Romance languages....Italic language family is one of the groups of the large Indo-European language family....Latin is Italic....and Romance languages are all dialects and pidgin languages of Latin.....
Thing is that Dacian was a language that was spoken in this area...Thracian was spoken nearby as well...these were a separate group of Indo-European languages.....just like Celtic languages and Greek language...
Thin is like that....there are two versions of Latin...there is the official Latin...this is taught at schools and this is the language of poetry and philosophy....this was spoken only by learned people and upper class.....ordinary people spoke vulgar latin....this is more close to Spanish language(domus means house in official Latin while casa means house in the vulgar Latin and Spanish)
There were many peoples living in Roman Empire....majority of them were Celts, Greeks, Dacians etc....most of them quit their native languages and started to speak vulgar Latin.....vulgar....not sophisticated Latin....and as every nationality and language had it's own accent and vocabulary and traditions, they distorted Latin.....since there was no fast media(television) people didn't know the "official" language that well and that's why the distortions occurred more frequently and became natural....for example....see how Irish people pronounce English....they also have their own native words in this language which aren't English but Irish....(Galore - go leor(pronounciation го лёр) meaning "a lot")...
The point emerges here....Romanian language...as any other Romance language...is simply Latin which is more or less heavily distorted by the speakers because Latin wasn't originally their native language.....in this case we may say that Dacian language has influenced Romanian....just as Gallian language has influenced French and other Celtic languages have influenced Spanish and Italian.....it's still Latin in its essence.....

Sorry for the slight offtopic......

Now I'll give you an ontopic lesson.....how to pronounce Cruachan....

CH is pronounced like KH in the Russian name MuKHina or like CH in the German name BaCH.......
