Yes, so that's one click per page and one ctrl+f search per page until you find what you're looking for, the chances are there's something on the first few pages. Doesn't seem much at all to me. Of course I didn't mean that you actually READ all the posts, that's why I said search.

02.07.2007 - 18:34 Written by Ellrohir on 02.07.2007 at 13:24 Siebenbürgen is not Swedish....the band, yeh, is from Sweden but the name is German.....in case you didn't know then Siebenbürgen is a place-name....a German place-name...Siebenbürgen was in Austria-Hungary...nowadays in Romania....and today it's called Transilvania....yeah...the place where Dracula lives....but in German it is called Siebenbürgen(Seven Towns - named after the seven towns in Transilvania)...so...as the name is German, then it should be pronounced according to the rules of German phonology.... It's just as for instance the Brazilian band has a name Tuatha de Danann.....Tuatha de Danann is neither a Portuguese nor an English name....it's Irish...so, it must be pronounced according to the Irish rules...namely... Tuaja de Danann(pronounce it as in Spanish) TH in Irish language corresponds to weak H...just as J in Spanish....José=Thosé.....same sound....H....and NEVER like in the English word tooTH.....unfortunately most people pronounce it as in TOOTH....for fuck sake....it isn't ENGLISH....it's IRISH.....and then they say..."But it isn't an H....it's TH!"....well yes....it's TH....but it must be pronounced as H.... Sometimes it seems that it would be good if all bands had names only in English language....because what's the difference....one way or another most people pronounce even non-english languages as they pronounce English....

2Frodo of Steel : i know what "Siebenbürgen" means...we in Czech have own term for this geographic area too - "Sedmihradsko"...and actualy - it is not exactly "Seven towns" but more likely "Seven castles"...even this word "burg" (pl. bürgen) means in german "castle", town is "stadt"...;) i only wasnt sure it really is german term, because i totally don't know swedish language, so thank you for make it clear for me

03.07.2007 - 01:12 Written by Ellrohir on 02.07.2007 at 21:30 Fine.....you're welcome....you're right about the German word "burg" it does mean castle....but well....since towns were around castles in middle ages...and besides...lots of German towns have the "burg" ending...Hamburg for instance...then I translated it as town....it's right though..."stadt" is the more correct word to characterize modern towns....

Drudkh is a Sanskrit word, so I pronounce it in a Sanskrit way. The first 'd' is pronounced in a way that cannot be represented in the Latin alphabet, and doesn't occur in English words. It's somewhere in between a hard 'd' like in the word 'door' and a soft 'dh' sound like in Norse 'Odhinn' (sometimes this is represented by the symbol 'ð'), that's the only way I can really explain it. The 'rud' part is pronounced like 'rood' but with a short 'oo', rhyming with the word 'wood'. The 'kh' ending is like the German 'ch' sound but with more emphasis on the 'k' part. Sanskrit is a ridiculously complex language both phonetically and grammatically, so it's quite alright if none of you know what the hell I mean!

in german and these nordic languages "ö" definitly isn't "oe" (to compare german with french, when german from the german language family and french roman...i don't think it will work )...i can't find any explanation how to pronounce this german "ö" (or "ø" which is the samein danish and norwegian alphabet)...maybe you know swedish hockey players like Nicklas Lidström or Mattias Norström and how to pronounce their family names...so that way

04.07.2007 - 14:41 Written by Ellrohir on 04.07.2007 at 14:23 Exactly....I know how to pronounce Ö.....and there's the same Ö in Estonian, Hungarian, Finnish and Turkish language....and the same Ö is in French....for example in word "bleu" and in "sOEur".....and in German there's also Ö....in the name ROErich for instance.....it isn't about language families you know....Estonian, Finnish, Hungarian, Turkish are all Uralic-Altaic languages while German and French and Swedish are Indo-European....the Ö is still the same...no matter how it appears in written form..... Verified....Roerich(German name) is pronounced "Rö:rikh"....which means that I was right.... Just looked it up in the wisdombook....

04.07.2007 - 20:37 Written by Ellrohir on 04.07.2007 at 15:51 Well I don't see any difference....in French "oe" means "Ö" and same thing with German....same thing with Latin......if you're speaking of "ö" pronounced as "oё" then you're right.....Ö is definitely not pronounced as OЁ in any language....
