New song from upcoming untitled Cult of Fire EP. Gone is the blackgaze sound on the last album and here we have a more thrash oriented straight forward bm approach.

Nortt, Void Of Silence, Catacombs, Solstice, Deinonychus, Evoken, Count Raven and perhaps Worship. Doom is slowly returning. It'll be awesome if Elysian Blaze and Solitude Aeturnus also return.

Good stuff.
Where has doom been before the awaited return?

Maybe I should have said better "some doom veterans" instead of only "doom" They were probably on Hibernation.

Drone album with a very Leviathan-esque artwork.
Espials von Lethe - Writhing Night Terrorist
Atmosphere black/doom with female vocals and beautiful string orchestrations. "Mixing Cascadian black metal influences with funeral doom, Viking metal, and neofolk, Shores of Mourning should appeal to fans of WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM, SUBROSA, and Blood Fire Death-era BATHORY.".

I know this was posted once before, but it's the best album i've heard in years so I'm gonna give it a bump. Avantgarde black(ish) perfection.

New Fucuo Fatuo track streaming from the upcoming album Backwater. Outstanding doom by the sounds of it.
Fuoco Fatuo - Sulpherous Gazes
This confirms what was suspected, that its gonna be a funeral album instead of death/doom as the debut. Quite thick stuff so its gonna take some listens, but it sounds like it could be amazing.

On the first song and sounds very A Forest Of Stars-like. So I quite like it so far.

Smells too much of A Forest of Stars which is not necessarily bad but at times they seem to be trying too hard to get that vibe.
The parts that I most enjoyed were where they sort of let go of trying to capture that sound and just grooved.
Hope they don't feel the need to force the issue in their next releases as they seem to have the ability to write really interesting music.

Funnily enough the Ashenspire album resonated with me far more than any AFoS album ever has, though I imagine most people will agree with you.

I really enjoyed it as well but is sounded like a demo at some points (especially the first song) rather than a finished polished product, also A Forest of Stars seem to have a better understanding of how to blend the Folkish parts with the Black Metal parts and transitions seamlessly between them.

New The Will of Tiamat. Great sounding bassy, bouncy dissonant black metal. It is also not as much of a DsO worshiper as you might think based on the cover.
