I see no one has mentioned Black Shape Of Nexus. Absolutely crushing, utterly riff-based sludge (except the Microbarome Meetings album which is pure drone) from Germany. They have a couple of releases available for download on their website, especially the Live in Mannheim tape is devastating. I've given a shot to pretty much their whole discography and you can't go wrong with these guys.

Chicago and Milwaukee (my home city) based band! They are playing well-produced post/experimental/space metal. Kinda cool sounding. Vocals remind me of the '90s band Hum.

I still won't give that album anythign over a 6. Oli's vocals really suck ass now. The only reason I gave their first a 7, is because of Braille.

I still won't give that album anythign over a 6. Oli's vocals really suck ass now. The only reason I gave their first a 7, is because of Braille.

I think is only true for the second album. I really like his demented high shrieks on Count Your Blessings (and to be fair, all preconceptions aside, Oli is a very good vocalist, at least technically) but the crying voice he was using on the second annoys me to no end, plus coupled with the really bland music (obviously exceptions exist like what you linked), I dislike that album intently.

On the third he uses a similiar "cry" but it is a bit more similiar to the kind of vocals used in let's say Pianos Become The Teeth than Suicide Season, and I have no problems with that, and the music on the third is miles above the second too (if you like legit post-hardcore, which I do).

But probably this topic is not the best place to discuss Bring Me The Horizon
