I'll start by pasting my last message in the old thread:
I saw Behemoth, Kataklysm, Aborted and Lyfthrasyr on Sunday.
As I may write a report about this one, I won't say much. Just that Kataklysm, and above all Behemoth, were amazing. Really. Absolutely amazing. I've been blown away, even if it was the third time this year I was seeing Behemoth live (after the No Mercy fest and the Hellfest). But, as headliners, they are even better.
Ok, I'll just give you the setlists of the last two bands, for those who care
Setlist Kataklysm:
Like Angels (Weeping The Dark)
Let Them Burn
Ambassador Of Pain
The Resurrected
Crippled & Broken
Serenity In Fire
1999:6661:2000
Where The Enemy Sleeps...
Beyond Salvation
As I Slither
Face The Face Of War
Manipulator Of Souls
In Shadows And Dust
Setlist Behemoth:
Rome 64 C.E.
Slaying The Prophets Of Isa
Antichristian Phenomenon
Demigod
From The Pagan Vastlands
Prometherion
Conquer All
Christgrinding Avenue
Drum Solo
Slaves Shall Serve
As Above So Below
Summoning Of the Ancient Gods
Christians To The Lions
Decade Of Therion
Chant For Eschaton 2000
Encore:
I Got Erection (Turbonegro cover)
To reply to another post in the old thread, both bands played approximately 75 minutes.
Next to come is Enslaved and Keep Of Kalessin tomorrow

I went to see In Flames a few day ago. Wasn't bad at all...I was happy mostly with great ''old'' song like: Pinbal Map, Colony, Episode 666, Only For The Week, Moonshield. Also Trigger was pretty good adittion in the set.

Went all the way out to Haderslev to see Mercenary yesterday. After a disaster show they performed last time we saw them in Bad Arolsen as opener for Arch Enemy, with broken down equipment and an overall setlist of four songs, we were in for a full headliner set this time. Apparently the metal scene in south Denmark isn't very far developed and so they played in front of some 40 people. But the show itself was huge. The band was in a great mood and they played the longest and most diverse set we've seen of them in two years. They told us that they decided to go for a few old songs to keep the old fans with them and it worked All in all a great concert evening although we've just arrived in time to see their first song and didn't see the opener Submission. Setlist Mercenary: Black And Hollow Bloodsong Bloodrush This Black And Endless Never Isolation Embrace The Nothing Everblack Intro Everblack The Endless Fall Death Connection Lost Reality --------- Execution Style Firesoul

Last show I saw was Soilwork back in February.. they played with Darkane, Swallow the Sun and Warbringer. The set for Soilwork went like...: Follow the Hollow Like the Average Stalker Exile Needlefeast Rejection Role Black Star Deciever 20 More Miles Song of the Damned Shadowchild Sworn to a Great Divide Distortion Sleep The Chainheart Machine Light the Torch Stabbing the Drama As We Speak Nerve It was awesome... though the first time I saw them (sometime in 2006), they played Bastard Chain.. would've loved to see that live again.

Opeth They came for the first time to Chile on saturday so they were amazed by the chilean crowd. The venue was full and we sang all of their songs it was an incredible show I was so happy seen them perform songs like Godhead's Lament, Credence and The Night and the Silent Water those were special moments, but they missed Demon of the Fall, I always dreamt that when they came they'd play that song but we'll have to wait for a few more years and hopefully they can play it. Never the less, it was a legendary show for us and for them

I see a lot of local shows. Sometimes almost every weekend! But the last touring act I saw was The Yardbirds. And the last Metal act I saw was Meshuggah with Cynic. It was great to see Cynic, fucking great musicians those guys. Meshuggah were pretty good too.

Last night I saw Sword of Judgement, HMP, Witchaven, Exmortus, and Bonded by Blood. Sword of Judgement was just as good as last time, but I was only able to see a few songs by them because I had to take care of some business in my car (if you know what I mean hehehehe). HMP was fucking awesome as usual, and even though I think their set got cut short, they still played every song I wanted them to. I was in the bar during Witchaven because they just aren't that good, but they seemed to put on a decent live show. Exmortus was so disappointing - they didn't play for as long as I was expecting and the guitars didn't seem as fancy as they do on CD. But, I got over it fast because Bonded by Blood was fucking AMAZING. They played almost every song from their album, including the Ninja Turtle song to close the night, and I might be wrong but I think they had one of the Exmortus guys on guitar. The only lame part was that after HMP played, most of the people left, but there was still plenty of moshing and everyone was just having fun. The show only cost $8 and it was one of the best that I've been to.

2 Concerts: Municipal Waste, God Forbid, As I Lay Dying, Children Of Bodom, Lamb of God Got in nice and early for Municipal Waste, who were awesome, but far too short. I sat outside drinking beer until AILD came on, watched their set for about 5 minutes before I started feeling sick (coincidence?), I watched CoB put on a pretty rushed show, then I left. Cannibal Corpse, The Faceless, Neuraxis, Obscura This show bored the tits off me. Nothing more to say.

California Metal Fest in Anaheim... Fun as FUCK. Suffocation was amazing, Carcass was great (I was a bit tired by the time they were on though. Too many blunts + beers ya know...) Exodus needed to sound check better. Toxic Holocaust at the second stage was teh best band of the night. Alot of worthless shit at the main stage before Suffocation came on. Next show(s) THE MOST METAL WEEKEND EVER! May 1st: Thrasho De Mayo May 2nd: Exodus + Kreator May 3rd: Toxic Holocaust + Napalm Death

Anathema Last night. I wonder why I waited years to see them. I guess I couldn't go the other times, but from now on, I'll make an extra effort. Finally got to see one of my favourite bands again, what a year it's been. It's really hard to explain what happened last night. Anathema played 2h40m. I was surprised by that to begin with. We often talk about the best moment but in this one they were all high level. But personally, I loved hearing Hope, sleepless (total surprise for me) and lost control. The metallica cover was a bonus because it was like their 3rd encore and they had nothing else to play lol Just a treat for everyone. They played the acoustic version of "one last goodbye" and the audience was singing so loud and beautifully that vincent broke down in tears, literally. I even saw Jamie and Douglas crying in the background. I cried too, I always cry in concerts, this was no exception. I can't help it that I have such a strong connection to the songs and the bands. Of course, no matter how good it is, we always want more. "Forgotten Hopes" and "The Silent Enigma" are two of my favourite Anathema songs and it would be even better if they had played those two songs. But I am more than happy after what happened last night. And maybe they'll play it next time. Just a last note, they were the most relaxed band I watched live, a lot of eye-contact with the audience, a lot of interaction with everyone in the room. And they invited everyone to the bar where they would be going after the show. Total symbiosis. It was so hot in Almada last night, I was even worried about Vincent's vocal delivery but he excelled himself. What can I say, there is a reason why they are one of my favourite bands, why I buy every album, we connect. Now I just want the new album and their next show here. Here is the setlist: Deep, closer, Pressure, far Away, angels walk among us, a simple mistake, inner silence, anyone anywhere, empty, jugdement, panic, shroud of false, lost control, regret, hope (cover), flying, are you there?,One last goodbye, Sleepless, hindsight, fragile dreams; metallica (orion) cover.

A WEEK AGO: Pestilence, Benediction, Grave in Athens. nice show but not perfect. every band had some nice things to make you like them more but also every band had some weak points... +1 goes to: Pestilence for: performance, technical playing, playing 1 extra song only in our country for their whole tour. Benediction for:great singer, passion from most of the members, setlist. Grave: sound quallity, performance. -1 to: Pestilnce for: the singer saying all the time fuck fuck fuck..., they don't have long hair!!! Benediction: bad sound quallity, rediqulus bassist. Grave: did nothing more than good playing of their songs.

Last night I saw Napalm Death, Kataklysm, Trap Them, and Toxic Holocaust, and it was fucking great. I got too drunk and acted like a jackass again, but that probably helped me have more fun. I lost my wallet during the Napalm Death set and me and other people were screaming at Barney to ask if anyone saw it, but he ignored us. Asshole. I met Joel Grind from Toxic Holocaust. I was throwing up a bunch, turned to my right, saw him and shook his hand. He's a really nice dude. Oh and some fat chick screamed at me because she is fat and tripped over my feet. I thought she was going to hit me lol.

Drummer could barely hold time, it almost seemed like a bunch of middle-aged dudes making fun of metal, like making fun of it, not having fun with it...big difference, assholes. Black Guard - Better than I anticipated. They had the most atrocious sound problems though, guy on the mixing board was on crack or something. Moonsorrow - best band of the night, fucking incredible. Primordial - Good, nothing mind-blowing though...it could have been the lack of crowd that all seemed to leave after moonsorrow. Korpiklaani - I fucking left before they came on.

Amon Amarth, and it was just... i'm still speechless, and my neck is still killing me. but it was amazing, it was amazingly good (although, just like with every concert here, the sound was kinda crappy). Still, it was an incredible show: i was happy 'cause they played where silent gods stand guard, which was the first song i heard from these guys, versus the world was incredible, the songs from the twilight album were awsome, and cry of the black birds was really cool. i tried making a video, but my cell phone is really crappy so nothing in terms of sound can be made out of it but there's a couple of pics that turned ok. But, the best part of it all was at the end, they were saying good-bye, their faces showed how happy they were (as well as johan h's words), and afterwards, johan s came down and started thrwoing away his guitar picks, and when he was in front of me, he handed me one!! i just looked at him, he saw me, smiled, and gave it to me. it was incredible! i'll post a pic of it later. it's black, and on one side it's got the AA logo and his signature, and on the other side it's a Mjollnir with some thunder on the back. i still can't believe it, but i'm incredibly happy

Huh, I went to see AC/DC in Munchen at the Olympic Stadium. I don't know what to say, I'm still in shock Cause this was realy an amazing, spectacular concert, definitely the best one in my life till now (and it will be very difficult the beat it). They have played for about 2 good hours, I think there were 20 songs on their setlist. Atmosphere was fucking amazing and unimaginable...I was astonished, cause I've been for the first time inside of such a big crowd and between all these fans. The band performance was for their years realy decent...I'm giving all respect to all them for that. Especially Angus kicked ass all the way, being always in the move, making crowd going crazy with his solos, other reactions (like striptease) and so on. And all these animations, pyrotechincs and I don't know what else, makes everything to look perfect for this kind of concert. Simply I'll just say that this was for me life memorable experience, that I would love to have it again and again and again Hands down for a world legends

AMON AMARTH!!! It was just like I dreamt it! (not like Opeth in Chile ) That week I had just started my internship so it was a very stressful week so going to that concert was the best thing that happened to me. I got there just in time, the intro was starting, so I didnt miss anything. The performance was flawless, they were shocked by the response of the chilean audience, we were insane!, they played a lot of new songs but I didnt mind 'cause the other songs were just the right ones. One of the best moments was when they played Ride for Vengeance, Masters of War and Where Silent Gods Stand Guard (on a roll), specially the last one, I burst out of fucking joy, it was a really great moment; and another one was Pursuit of the Vikings, everyone went crazy, the band couldnt believe what they were seeing. To sum up, they did their best performance so we enjoyed a really great concert

Blackenedfest - Ceremonial Castings, Inquinok, Withered, Cattle Decapitation, Cephalic Carnage, Mayhem After seeing Mayhem's terrifying live set, I almost had to watch a Disney movie or cuddle with my poodle when I got home because it was fucking evil. Attila is so fucked up live, in a good way, and somehow they managed to blow everyone else away. Attila had a dark hood and makeup, and slowly creeped around the stage while methodically dangling a noose like a pendulum or tightening it around his neck. His vocals were stronger than I thought they'd be - when he was introducing the band, especially Hellhammer, and when he just randomly growled in between songs, his gutturals rumbled. On stage, they had two large red banners and also two heads that were stuck on stands, and of course had blood everywhere. It was amazing.

Last concert was Circle II Cirlce supported by Burning Black and Manticora. It was awesome and I got Zack Stevens and the rest of the guys from C2C to sign my ticket. Interesting thing was that I was sick as hell for three days just before the concert. 3 days to the concert - Sore throat, headache and 39C temperature. couldn't eat I bite for two days. 2 days to the concert - Sore throat, no more headache, still had high temperature and still couldn't eat anything 1 day to the concert - surprisingly better, normal temperature, throat was feeling better, however I got my eye infected, but that wasn't going to stop me. The day of the concert - woke up at 4:00 in the morning with an unbearable pain in my right ear, went to the doctor after 4 hours of struggling and he gave me some eardrops to ease the pain. a few hours later my ear was fine, my throat was almost fine and later that evening I attended the show.

Last night saw the gig of the mother of metal, Doro....that was already the second time for me to see her and it was powerful and strong as it was the first time....too bad the concert turned up bit too short, partly also because since she wasn't headlining that evening, she couldn't be called back to stage that many times as she had to do the first time when she was the main artist of the show..... Anyhow.....in the end everyone was joining her in "ALL WE ARE ALL WE ARE WE ARE WE ARE ALL ALL WE NEED"..... classic.... Doro has a very strong and enchanting stage presence...so do Nightwish and Epica....

Some people asked me to review Dream Theater's concert so here it is. It was a Dream (Dream Theater) come true I can honestly say that I didn't sleep well the night before the concert just boiling with antecipation. I have been a DT fan for almost 4 years now and to finally see them right there in front of me working their magic is, at least, overwhelming. I'm also happy that whenever they come here the shows are sold out, signs of success. As for the show itself, Pendragon opened for them. I enjoyed some of the songs they played, I admit I was a bit restless and anxious to see DT but I still managed to catch good tunes. I'll probably download one of their albums. They were energetic, some bands lack that, and that energy lit up the crowd. After a short pause (it seemed like hours to me) the lights go down and DT's perfomance begins. They played the songs they've been playing this tour, the surprise for me was "Panic Attack", I love that song and I never expected to hear that in Lisbon. Needless to say I freaked out a little bit and my hair suffered. I must say that their connection to the audience was very strong, I swear Petrucci was always staring at me lol or at least to that section of the crowd. It was completly packed with energy that we gave to the band, a lot of clapping, singing, "hey, hey, hey", horns in the air. It was a sight to see. Portuguese audiences never disappoint. And Myung actually went to the front of the stage, that was so surprising lol He was impecable and seems more relaxed live. Too bad I couldn't see Ruddess for the most part. They were clearly happy with what was happening, Petrucci smiling to Portnoy, Labrie at his best (he sang very well last night, I was impressed) even headbanging in a lot of songs. Apart from their mad skills and, to me, great collection of songs, I think they are at a stage where they feel good and are there to enjoy things. I felt a geniune appreciation and connection with their fans. Here is the setlist: . In The Presence Of Enemies: Part 1 2. Beyond This Life 3. Panic Attack 4. A Rite Of Passage 5. Hollow Years (extended) 6. Constant Motion 7. Erotomania 8. Voices 9. Solitary Shell (extended) 10. The Spirit Carries On 11. As I Am 12. Encore: Metropolis Pt. 1 / Learning to Live / A Change of Seasons Highlights for me: Beyond this life, Panic Attack, Erotomania/Voices, The Spirit Carries on Oh, and I cried in the spirit carries on's solo as strange as it may sound. I almost cried when I saw them for the first time on stage too. I'm sure this the beginning of a lot of DT shows I will attend. It was an amazing show. They are surely, my favourite band of all time and now I'm just waiting for my Black Clouds & Silver Linings CD to arrive.
