You know the drill, recommend me good metal stuff from 2017. Remember this is not a playlist or promotion place, it should be stuff you have HEARD ATLEAST ONCE which means it is not just stuff YOU think is good but something that OTHERS should find good and enjoy as well.

Death metal from Portugal. Sounds more closely to Disma than anything else to my ears. Quite melodic and groovy. It's hard to judge anything from a single but yeah this seems like something that is worth keeping an eye on.

Fuck yeah! Thanks for linking! Didn't even realize they were working on new material
Edit: Songs sounds pretty messy and the production is rather chaotic (even for Pyrrhon). Sounds more in line with Running Out Of Skin (which I find to be their worst release) rather than the far far superior Mother Of Virtues. Hopefully the full release proves to be more coherent.

New black/death grind from Flenser with heavy hardcore influences. The abominable thrash metal like shouted vocals make it almost unlistenable though.

Succumb - Succumb

Bumping this because it's freaking awesome. I completely disagree with you on the vocals though. I find them perfectly suited to the style and honestly a bit refreshing

3rd always has something thats not good with his own recs though. For him its just a figure of speak. He probably likes the vocals

Demo of a new project by the mastermind of one-man band Huszar, sounds great. It sounds just like Huszar but a bit dirtier, he says he made this side-project to keep the lyrical concepts of Huszar unaffected by his current personal situation, or something like that.

Ascendant - A Thousand Echoes

I've lstened to a bunch of average power metal albums so far this year but this is actually a very good power metal album imo. It's from the United Arab Emirates. Good vocals and very solid musicianship. Overall production is really good as well.

The new Jordablod album sounds pretty cool. Black metal with some melodic and death influences spread about. Almost sounds like a more accessible Negative Plane given the production style.

Infernal Vlad from Cult of Fire, Death Karma etc. has put out a heavily gaze sounding solo ep thats nothing like his main projects.

Vladimír Pavelka ‎- Pod Nočným Závojom

I'm loving this shit. Never got to check it out till yesterday even if I knew since Beyond Eyes posts about it regularly.

It's like a shoegaze instrumental version of CoF. Not unlike certain happy riffs on Death. Really uplifting, the description on it is quite accurate:

Let the music transport you back to more carefree time, when the biggest magic was happiness

That sounds super cheesy but fuck it, THEM RIFFS!

New Dark Descent Records album so you know its going to deliver in spades. Old school slightly blackened death from this Colorado band, their sophomore album.

Excommunion - Thronosis

I've been waiting for this for a long time. And it's excellent. Their debut Superion is well worth checking out too if people haven't heard it

After a couple of listens, this is currently my favorite death metal album this year. The sound and songwriting is just so perfect for me. Will defo check out the debut.

I meant along the lines of how awesome the riffs are. Sure, the band's sounds are not very similar, but they have similar ideas for awesome riffs.
