It definitely lets the synthwave take almost entirely over at times (tracks 3 and 4 especially), but on balance, I'd say synthwave with metal drums and buried guitar distortion is more interesting than bland blackgaze/atmo-black with half-baked synths, so I think they're doing the right thing here
