Ok, so what is everones favourite Death album? In my opinion Human is on top, but only slightly... This is because of the degree of intensity and speed within this album.... It also, IMO contains one of the greatest tracks ever created 'Suicide Machine'

Symbolic and Scream Bloody Gore follow close behind.

It is really hard to decide between Symbolic and Individual Thought Patterns, both are greate and eternal albums but even if Individual has little worse production than Symbolic, it dosen't matter for me because Individual has the greatest level of creation in Death's music.

i voted "other" -> Bloodbath's Ressurection Through Carnage is just perfect, and in Nightmares Made Flesh, Peter Tagtgren does a fantastic job replacing Mikael Akerfeldt

This is about the band 'Death'. Not about the genre.

Maybe the creator could slightly edit the topic title?

DEATH DEATH DEATH DEATH.... how i love this band is unexplainable

I loved all their albums but symbolic has it all.... you can put in the CD and just listen from begining to end over and over again... great guitar work , drums where out of this world, love chuck's voice.

Without death there is no death metal .... I think the reason they called it death metal is because of this band... if this band never existed they would have called it obituary metal cause obituary rules too

The topic isn't too confusing - what death metal fan hasn't heard of Death? And I would think the fact that nothing but Death albums were listed in the poll should have been a dead give away. But maybe that's just me.

Then consider this a learning experience...

And are you "less metaller" than someone who has more Maiden than you? Frankly, I don't know, nor do I care.

Finally, even if you don't know WHO Death is, perhaps you should have taken the time to actually read some of the results if you didn't recognize either the band name or any of the listed albums. I realize it is a lot to ask of many posters here to actually READ (even some of) the thread before posting, but I will ask it anyways.

I have the 5 most recent. I prefer Sound of Persevearance for its guitar and drum work, vocals, production and general catchyness evident in songs such as "To Forgive is to Suffer" and "Spirit Crusher". Plus the into to "Scavenger of Human Sorrow" is simply orgasmic.

Haha, actually some of my friends thats likes death metal (which is like 2 lol) hasnt heard of them before. I turned up with my Death ITP hoodie on and they where like 'whats that say on your jumper? Never heard of them.'

Anyway I've only got 'Symbolic' and love it. Great riffage all through out the album, and Chuck's unique vocals are awsome. I dont have a favourite track from it because they are all just great, some catchy. I wont vote because i have only 'Symbolic' but im always keeping an eye open for more Death.

Scream Bloody Gore all the way for me. I felt his vocals lost a bit of the natural growl in it after that album and it was really such a trademark kind of an album in the history of Death Metal.

The Sound of Perseverance for me...
Chuck's vocals on that record are amazing, much more tortured...and his music seems more complex....and TSoP has Voice of the soul
