Alright, so I have to do this project for a class. The project is a 16 page article in where I have to pick a music topic. I decided to do it on Quebec's technical death metal scene and chose three bands to talk about; Gorguts, Cryptopsy and Quo Vadis. Then the prof told us that we needed things like graphs and such. So, this poll is simply designed to get an online poll opinion. So, give me an opinion and please do the poll. Thanks a lot!

Poll

Which One Represents The Genre More? (Yes...just these three)

Quo Vadis
51
Cryptopsy
40
Gorguts
33

Total votes: 124

Quo Vadis. I think this is my favorite Tech Death band all in all. Its technical, yet melodic, and it isnt generic at all, as most of tech bands are, unfortunately, epecially the new ones.
And Defiant Imaigination, with Steve DiGiorgio on bass is fucking masterpiece, one of the greatest albums I know.

Where are Martyr and Augury??? The list is so short you would think Quebec has like 10 metal bands, that's outrageous... I'm not so fond of technical death, but Martyr are real cool in show, the vocalist is hilarious and they are ON FIRE, so I vote Martyr. For Québécois only: pour nous encourager à mosher, le chanteur gueulait genre: "Enwèyez ma gang d'esti de métalleux!" lolll trop fucké...

Quo Vadis all the way. Their music is just so smooth, which makes no sense for death metal but somehow works perfectly. I was suprised to see that most people here agree, I thought Cryptopsy would be winning by a landslide.

Quo Vadis it is. Their first album is a gem.
Gorguts is a close second.

Just stepped into that topic, but I surely vote for Quo Vadis! Awesome band - really looking forward to their new album. And that girl on the bass is unbelieveable!

I agree with all those who suggested Martyr. Very good Technical Death Metal, imo. (though I'm not a fan of Death Metal)

They're a young band from my hometown... Great musicians they got talents If you wanna hear what they can do I recomend their Myspace or Official Website... The last album they released (which is their second) is fracture.. and its amazing !

Its true that Quo Vadis are great, but now its long gone.. im not even sure they'll release something new, and anyways it won't sound the same
its never gonna be the band it once was.

it won't sound the same its never gonna be the band it once was.

People keep saying this but they continue to forget the main composer is the only one left and that's all that matters.

And judging by the song they previewed a while ago for the upcoming album, it doesn't sound like much has changed. I'm betting on a 2013 release even though it's slated for sometime in 2012.
