Well it is the same guy as I and II so his identity is known since the identity of those two has been common knowledge for years now

He Is is a great song. I wish the rest of the album stood up to it.

Way better than the lackluster previous album.

Very catchy, almost like pop music. Songs sound great on first few listens but grow too familiar very quickly.

Not much fun here..they better raise their voice a little more . except for cirice nothing in this album is catchy and addictive at all... such a shame .i expected something really heavier than 2 last record but it turns out that those past records are waaay better and heavier and catchier.

Great album, I give it a 10 on this site. On any other site it would be an 8 but from how skewed all the ratings on this site are (almost every album being over 8) it has to be a 10.

Great album, maybe better than their first? I don't know.. Definitely a return to form after that boring 2nd one.

Giving 10's to albums isn't considered ratings abuse here. I've only ever been given a warning for giving a few albums 2's and 3's. Which is another reason why every rating is so high on this site, because people that give a few bad scores are banned.

Giving tens or threes or twos is not rating abuse. It is artificially deflating or inflating your vote in order to meet YOUR and your opining only of what is a fair total score for an album. And since you have already been warned about it, you'd think you could vote according to only what you feel about the album, but no, that's apparently too hard and you feel as though you have to meddle and tweak the numbers.

Consider those votes nuked any time soon. Giving 10s to meet your ideas only IS just as much vote abuse as giving out 1s to tank albums.

I'd like to refer everyone to this and this. Now let's be done with it.

This album bored the living crap out of me and I will never listen to it again. I think Ghost are one of the most overrated bands of the past couple of years. They weren't even that entertaining live. The first four tracks from the debut and "Year Zero" are the only songs I ever come back to.

Giving 10s here is not ratings abuse, correct. Giving 10s to albums you actually think are 8s because you are trying to manipulate the rating IS ratings abuse.

It's funny that among more than 100 people rating this album 7 or higher, it's the less than 20 people rating it lower that most comment here and think they "own the truth". Anyway, I loved this album, especially in Cirice and He Is. I found the first half slightly better than the second, but it's definitely a solid record and I'll spin it around for a while.

Where did you get that idea? As far as I can tell the people rating it below a 7 are just sharing their thoughts. What makes you believe they "think they own the truth" when they're doing the exact same thing as people who say they like it?

If you are referring to my comment, it was directed at the conversation that was going on before it. It was actually an attempt to steer the conversation back to the album instead of the topic of vote abuse, which I'm getting tired of seeing on every popular album thread.

Go back on the comments and then read HOW the vote-abuse-conversation started.

Really nice album, actually. So much better than the previous one. Don't empathise with the "poppiness" sentiments though. This one has a trudging moodiness, and slight heaviness, throughout most of the tracks which was lacking in the previous albums. Love the psychedelia here too.

End of second playthrough and I'm pretty sure this is the best Ghost album. Doesn't suffer from filler-itis like the debut either, though I think the opening track is probably the least good.

I must have listened to this about 5 times last night and I still don't remember =p the last track has a cool choir-esque finish though.

I don't understand how can people say Infestissumam is better then this. There must be something wrong with your ears.

I may be in the minority saying this, but I honestly believe this is Ghost's best album. The other two didn't really strike a chord with me (Infestissumam was better than Opus Eponymous for me, but both albums are over-hyped), but Meliora is simply a really fun album to listen to. The songwriting never gets boring, and for once I sort like the harmonic vocal delivery and its connection to the melodic musicianship, particularly in the album's highlights, "Spirit", "Cirice" and closer "Deus in Absentia". I like the psych/proggy flourishes in the mid-section of most songs too, which naturally hits my soft spot.

In every hyped album everyone who rates the album lower than a 6 always has to show himself here and reply to everyone trying to justify his taste and why this album sucks.

Agreed, I skip the instrumental tracks every time now.
