I'll start by pasting my last message in the old thread:
I saw Behemoth, Kataklysm, Aborted and Lyfthrasyr on Sunday.
As I may write a report about this one, I won't say much. Just that Kataklysm, and above all Behemoth, were amazing. Really. Absolutely amazing. I've been blown away, even if it was the third time this year I was seeing Behemoth live (after the No Mercy fest and the Hellfest). But, as headliners, they are even better.
Ok, I'll just give you the setlists of the last two bands, for those who care
Setlist Kataklysm:
Like Angels (Weeping The Dark)
Let Them Burn
Ambassador Of Pain
The Resurrected
Crippled & Broken
Serenity In Fire
1999:6661:2000
Where The Enemy Sleeps...
Beyond Salvation
As I Slither
Face The Face Of War
Manipulator Of Souls
In Shadows And Dust
Setlist Behemoth:
Rome 64 C.E.
Slaying The Prophets Of Isa
Antichristian Phenomenon
Demigod
From The Pagan Vastlands
Prometherion
Conquer All
Christgrinding Avenue
Drum Solo
Slaves Shall Serve
As Above So Below
Summoning Of the Ancient Gods
Christians To The Lions
Decade Of Therion
Chant For Eschaton 2000
Encore:
I Got Erection (Turbonegro cover)
To reply to another post in the old thread, both bands played approximately 75 minutes.
Next to come is Enslaved and Keep Of Kalessin tomorrow

The most recent concert I have attended was a Skeletonwitch tour back in October. The other bands were Toxic Holocaust, Trap Them, and Cremains. Cremains was a local DM band and were surprisingly decent. Trap Them and Toxic Holocaust kicked ass (as usual).

I just saw Nile on Friday along with Immolation and Krisiun. Krisiun really blew me away. I saw them a few months ago, but this time they really killed. One of the opening bands, Dreaming Dead also caught my attention. They are a female fronted (and guitared) chaotic black-thrash band from LA. Overall it was a really great show.

Yesterday I attended the Paganfest here in Innsbruck with Varg, Arkona, Dornenreich, Eluveitie and Finntroll and it was amazing Varg: They were technically really good, but their problem was that they were the first to play and it was a pretty small crowd, so the atmosphere was pretty bad . A little bit later I met them outside and talked to them for half an hour or so and they are really nice guys! (a shame that too many stupid guys mean that Varg is a NS band which is absolutely not true!) Arkona: They were also not bad, but they had the same problem with the crowd. The funniest thing of their show was that the singer somehow moved like a female rapper, I nearly died laughing when she came outside Dornenreich: Easily the best band yesterday, they were soooo amazing! I expected only their acoustic material, but most of the stuff they played were from their older albums and they were simply great! (ok, their newest one is also really good, but the older ones are better for playing live). The crowd was also pretty big when they started playing because they are from Innsbruck and so also the atmosphere was awesome! After Dornenreich finished I already knew that Eluveitie and Finntroll have no chance to beat Dornenreich Eluveitie: I missed the first half of their show because I was talking outside with the bandmembers of Varg, but that was not too bad because I've already seen them 2 years ago. The second half of their show was quite good (technically good as always) and enjoyable, but I have to admit that I liked them more 2 years ago because I don't like their newer albums as much as their first one (and somehow also the second one). Finntroll: I was glad to see them finally, because I missed them some years ago when they were here in Innsbruck so I was pretty excited . Their show was also pretty cool and they played all of their best songs (imo) and when they started playing "Trollhammaren" everyone jumped around and sang along, that was the best atmosphere I have ever seen here in Innsbruck, even better than when Amon Amarth was playing here! So all in all it was quite a cool concert and if you have ever the chance to see Dornenreich live, do it, you won't regret it!

On Saturday I attended a small fest organized here in my city, the Eyescream Metal Fest 2, I had a great day, there were 10 bands, 5 international and 5 national, alternating the two stages available, the international in the main stage and the national in the lobby. This is the chronicle... well, just a vulgar description. Two bands started the event before my arrival, Arsis and Garrobos, I asked some people about their performance and most of them said they were a great choice for the opening of the fest. - Dying Fetus: Damn! I still don't know how just this three guys almost destroyed the stage, it was quite good, and I just got there in the second half of their act. - Beheading: A local Deathcore (or something) act that didn't caught much attention, too bad for them, they really wanted to entertain the people in there. - Municipal Waste: Finally, the first band I wanted to see that night, they were awesome, the slam was incredible (damn, my feet and my nose didn't like it hahaha), and even if we were in a place not meant for that, we made a wall of death, hahaha, actually many people got thrashed hahaha. Great band if you want to thrash like a maniac! Because Thrashing is their business... and business is good! - Glass Mind: A prog metal local act, with Dante Díaz from The Arkitecht helping them with the vocal duties, they had a nice sound, so I think I'll give a try to their debut album again. - Cynic: It was a good act, but they should play more songs from "Focus", because the "Traced In Air" material is sometimes boring for a live gig, well, they are really nice guys, two of them (the newest guys in the band) signed my ticket haha, I just wanted to say "hello". - IntoxXxicated: A local thrash metal act with balls of steel, they are quite good live and very charismatic hahaha, I loved them. And finally the headliner: - Sacred Reich: OMFG! This guys are really good live, the act was veeery thrashy, hilarious and amazing, Phil Rind is a great frontman, very funny guy haha, and all their songs have a great sound live, I really really loved them (my neck still hurts, lots of headbanging!). They played some parts of various songs like Paranoid and made the crowd sing with that strange song that I can only remember from the "Beetlejuice" movie. And of course they closed with "Surf Nicaragua" It was a great night, I met the vocalist from "The Arkitecht", Dante Díaz, and also I talked with The Arkitecht himself, Genaro Ochoa (finally I was able to meet him personally), also I had a short chat with Brett Caldas from Kalisia, who was doing some sound engineering job for Cynic, really nice guys, all of them. I can't wait for the next year for another Eyescream Fest!

Saturday 06/03... Dying Fetus are brutal...the growls are excellent and really hard to beat, it was just sick!! Cynic was the best group I've seen live ever, they had a perfect perfomance...i was truly excited, my heart was pounding amazingly fast and it was just an unique experience...they played almos the 2 complete albums plus a new song, they only missed 4 songs...anyway it was just PERFECT meeting the guys was an amazing plus sunday 07-03... Dream Theater for the 3rd time...i think it was so far their best concert, i wasn't actually expecting that much but they totally blew me off...hollow years, in the name of god, metropolis pt1, pull me under, dance of eternity...a blast! i always walk away with a big smile after watching these guys!! hopefully soon...Suffocation & Mounstrosity...!!!

Lightning Swords of Death Great black thrash... really good way to start a night of thrash Lazarus AD I stayed in the bar during this band and watched them on the projector screen. They didn't impress me at all, but maybe I would have liked them more if I was actually on the floor. Evile These guys played solid, but they didn't do much for me. I'm just not that into Evile, but they weren't bad. Kataklysm This was my sixth time seeing this band, and they played the same songs that they always do, except It Turns To Rust, which is one they've never played here. Definitely one of the better performances by them, but I'm always disappointed when they don't open with In Shadows And Dust Kreator Shit, these guys blew everyone away! They played all sorts of songs and just went into one right after the other. I had to mosh like crazy and I got in trouble for crowd surfing, but fuck it. I knew they'd be good, but not this good

YouTube is blocked at work, so I can't see the video. But, I can tell you that he didn't waste too much time talking, and when he did, he sorta was a little overdramatic haha. His voice was stronger live than it sounds on any live DVD I've seen and stronger than on the last few albums, so that was nice.

22.03.2010 - 07:52 Written by Dangerboner on 22.03.2010 at 07:47 that's exactly what he does on that video, it's Kreator at Wacken 2005, and he says something like (heavy breathing) "HELLO WACKEN HOW ARE YOU TODAY???" *crowd cheers* "PEOPLE OF WACCKKEEEEENN!!! ARE YOU READY TO (slits his own throat with his thumb) KILL???" *crowd cheers*... "ARE YOU READY TO KILL...EACH.. OTHER???" *crowd cheers* "PLEASURE TO KILL!!" i don't think he's serious about it though, he's way too funny as fuck with his over-dramatization. UltraBoris from M-A says he has a bootleg where he introduces the song "Total Death" like this: "the most special death... is TOTAL DEATH!!"

Saw hammerfall and powerglove a few days ago. It was pretty obvious a good number of the people at the show had only came to see Powerglove. There was a group of guys disco dancing or whatever you want to call it just outside the pit. Weird shit. That was another thing. I didnt really expect there to be much of a mosh pit for a video game oriented band, but as it turned out, the pit compared in size the Exodus pit I'd been in at the same venue. Even the band members seemed a bit surprised. Fun band, but they sure drew an odd crowd. It seemed like there were fewer people at the show when Hammerfall came on. (Also The disco dancers had taken off, much to the relief of the real metalheads.) As the headliners they played well over an hour and for my friends and I, were the real highlight of the evening.

Killfest Tour or whatever it's called I stayed in the bar during Woe of Tyrants and Evile because I didn't care to see them. Warbringer These guys were fucking great! I knew their entire playlist that night, but I got really drunk, so all I remember them playing are Jackal, Severed Reality, Total War, Living in a Whirlwind, Combat Shock, Prey for Death, and a couple others. God Dethroned This band made me laugh a little. The vocalist looked like he wasn't trying, almost like he was bored, and his vocals weren't that great all of the time. Regardless, they played a solid set and sound way more evil live. Vader I only saw the first half of their set, but got pretty crazy in their pit. This is the third time I've seen this band, and I've come to the conclusion that they're much better on CD. Wings was probably the highlight for me. Overkill haha these guys played for like half an hour. I think they blew me away more when I saw them last year, but they were still really energetic and loud the other night. My friend and I were laughing at the guitarist because he was a tramp stamp tattoo that just says "SKULL"

I went to the Wolves in the Throne Room/Earth show the other night. WIITR were great, but the sound was a little too loud, so the quality wasn't as good as last time. They played four songs for about 45 minutes or so and the place was packed. I skipped Earth afterwards because they are one of the most boring bands I've ever seen. Basically, I only saw 45 minutes of the show, but still worth $12

I don't attend many concerts (which is a shame), since it's hard to find the crew to go to the capitol with me. Last concert, and the best one I was in, was Disturbed in Zagreb last year in June. It was fucking smashing, they sure can put a good show! I feel so wrong for not going to see Korn three years ago, but I wasn't into them as much as I am now. So, with thier new album coming out in a month or so, I expect a tour, probably not before 2011 though. Disturbed have been two years ago in Zagreb as well, so, if they visit us this year as well, of course I'm fucking coming

Damn, I completely forgot about this topic My last concert - Rammstein, Belgrade, over a month ago. Combichrist, as the supporting act, created an incredible atmosphere (I sincerely hope their drummers are taking some heavy drugs, because if they are not doped up...wow ). Rammstein did a great job, the energy, the heat, the on-stage performance...the new album didn't impress me, but hearing it live is a completely different story.

3 Inches Of Blood, Goatwhore and Evil Survives Evil Survives were a fucking joke, they seemed like a parody metal act you'd see on some Disney channel pre-teen sitcom. Goatwhore were really solid, but I'm not too familiar with them so a lot of it was over my head. 3 Inches Of Blood were great as per usual, but I noticed Shane Clark wasn't playing last night which makes me worried, I hope they didn't lose another member...

Converge, Coalesce, Black Breath Sold out! Black Breath and Converge were awesome, but Coalesce was a huge disappointment. The vocalist unsurprsingly yelled without any sense of convinction and the music wasn't even that powerful. It doesn't even matter though because Converge tore up the stage. It's a shame that I got too drunk to fully appreciate the band, but I was with my ex-ish gf, so I had to lol :/

Last night on a tiny stage in Atlanta The Twilight Sad I'm not even sure what they're supposed to be. Some sort of indie I suppose. The singer kind of ruined things as the music did have potential. Not really my thing. Mono By far the most intense live experience I've had. They played for about 90 minutes, and every one was as insane as the last. The build up in their songs is amazing and probably the loudest part of a concert I've ever heard. The members really have a passion for their music, which comes through in their on-stage performance. If you have a chance to see them, don't miss it.
