Who knows Adagio? I hear no answer here but you don't know what you miss guys and girls! Adagio is a band with an amazing guitar player called Stephan Forte who has gathered great musicians in this band such as Dirk Bruinenberg, the drummer of the prog band Elegy.
But the original touch of the music played here is that it sounds very orchestral. In fact, a real orchestra is playing on background and the mix between metal and classic is gorgeous. Among piano, keyboards and guitars parts, a special feeling is spreading into your mind: 'this is good'! The incredible thing is to know that the singer is David Readman, singer of ... Pink Cream 69! Nothing to do with prog metal. However, his voice is fitting very well on the melodies and you can't deny that he is a good singer, whatever you could think of its own band...

One of the best debut release I know. Does not let down any time. Easily worth a 10.

Really creative vocal lines here. Some of the riffs are kinda pedestrian but they take a back seat to the keyboards and the bass lines, which are so great. Almost every song here is killer and interesting for deep listening, except the instrumental which I find a little boring. Some of the vocal lines are so badass in my opinion, like in Second Sight; "I cannot stop this ineluctable doom
From raining over the world. Alas, this obnoxious portend Will turn out to be abiding truth" Ugh, I just love that kind of stuff. I recommend this to any fan of catchy power metal and classical-sounding music in general. Favorite tracks; Second Sight, The Stringless Violin, Sanctus Ignis, and Inner Road.

23 years after stumbling randomly on this record in a Future shop, I'm still listening to this on a regular basis (like 20 minutes ago, in my car). There are not that many albums that can suck you in from the first notes and only let you go on the fading ones. Still blown away. One of my favorite albums of all time.
