Definitly morbid angel.

For me, it has to be Nile. And Decapitated follows in secvond place.

Morbid Angel is probably my favorite old school death metal band. There's a lot of other great ones out there, but those first three albums of MA's are fantastic.

Edge of Sanity is my favourite DM band.

I would have said Edge of Sanity, but then I thought about the fact that out of all their albums I only truly care for Purgatory Afterglow and Crimson, which are both amazing albums, but still, two out eight isn't particularly impressive.

With that in mind, I therefore choose Carcass, with Morbid Angel a close second and Autopsy a close third.

Sounds cliche but probably Possessed (even got to see them live, which was just amazing). Bolt Thrower follow very closely behind, though.

Beyond Creation

Damn, makes it so much harder.

Ignoring technical/progressive and melodic bands, I'll go with Cattle Decapitation.

Atheist, Edge of Sanity, Aborted I like a lot. None of them actually are pure oldschool death metal but I'm not the biggest oldschool fan anyway. If I had to choose then Atheist.

For brutal death I'd go with Cerebral Bore, Katalepsy and Putrid Pile at the moment

And Nile is obviously mind blowing as well.

Actually, I think I'm going to go with Bolt Thrower, Cattle Decapitation is deathgrind.

My personal favorite is ulcerate and then comes Tooh I guess.

Nile are my fav death metal band.. Followed by Cannibal Corpse and Suffocation..

I'll go with Bloodbath and Behemoth. Especially both of their last releases are pretty good.

I Always find it funny that people want to exclude Death from polls like this since most of Death's albums aren't death metal at all. Only their first two/three were truly death metal and the third one was already mediocre death metal compared to its contemporaries.

Well I guess that just means most people realize progressive metal is better than death metal.

Death's first two are vastly superior to anything they did afterwards and especially when compared to that piece of **** called The Sound Of Perseverance.
