the longest i have heard whole so far are :
Manowar - Achilles, Agony And Ecstasy In Eight Parts (28:36) *
Symphony X - The Odyssey (24:10) *
Rhapsody - Gargoyles, Angels of Darkness (19:02)
* - interesting that both those longest have inspiration in Homer - one in Iliad, second in Odyssey

I really enjoy Swallow the Sun's "Plague of Butterflies" which clocks in at roughly 35 minutes. Opeth's "Black Rose Immortal" is a great 20 minute song. "Somnium Obmutum" by Estatic Fear is probably one of the greatest songs ever recorded and is about 32 minutes.

Some of my favorite songs are long (Halloween, And Then There Was Silence, etc....) but maybe I'm just ADD b/c I can only listen to one really long song at a time. On an odd day maybe 2-3, but I have to be in the right mood.

I like Black Rose Immortal, its awesome. I know Moonsorrow has a lot of long songs, I havent listen to all of their albums but I think Tulimyrsky its a great song

I love good progressive long songs, but usually they don't go much further than 10 minutes, maybe 15. But I think the longest song I know is from this crazy Extreme Doom metal band, Wormphlegm.. "Epejumalat Monet Tesse Muinen Palveltin Caucan Ja Lesse" is a 30 minute song.. and damn twisted.

I can't listen to a song longer than 15 minutes without feeling bored, really... Even the most beautiful or awesome songs get boring after a while. I just get the feeling that the band just doesn't know how to put an end to the song and I find it quite annoying, honestly. Moonsorrow is about the only band that plays good over-15 minutes songs, to me.

Corrupted is god when it comes to long songs. And when it comes to pure quality as well. And brutality. And beauty. El Mundio Frio doesn't beat The Sacrilege of Fatal Arms in length, but then again, Devil Doll is shit... C O R R U P T E D One of my favourite bands, ever.

Corrupted is god awfull crap, so no thanks .;D I do like Devil Doll's long songs though, all feel like as if Edgar Allen Poe's stories became music. Moonsorrow make great long tracks as well.

Wow some of those are long as fuck but as far as songs I'd listen to, the longest I would have a song playing would be half an hour or so. Moonsorrow does it for me, seeing as most of their songs are pretty long but not really boring.

I hope I'm not wrong this time but, If I remember well, Dream Theater's "Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence" is supossed to be just one song, so it's a really long song jeje. Also "In The Presence Of Enemies" is a great long song.
