Anything that can cause a scar can cause a keloid, they are scars that grow and become much larger. So Boss Keloid is a boss with a lot of BIG scars; it is also a song from the classic sludge album Our Problem by Iron Monkey.
Apart from their band name, this album has a lot of beautiful melodies, like a bunch of cool vocal lines in the climax of the opening track "Orang of Noyn". "Gentle Clovis" is another great track with awesome riffs top to bottom: the opening riff, the Mastodon-sounding chorus riff, heavy breakdown and a beautiful, melodic and power chord-driven outro riff. The beginning of "Cecil Succulent" sounds like something that Plini would write, then goes into this heavy and slow section with some very good harsh vocals; it sounds like something that Mastodon would write when they were at their heaviest. The last two minutes of "Flatt Controller" is probably my favorite section of the whole album, with this atmospheric and gorgeous guitar riff.
This album never becomes uninteresting, they always hit you with a different and unique section in every song to always keep things exciting. They blend genres together really well; it has stoner and psychedelic rock vibes, a little bit of jazz, even some country rock vibes on the mellow part of "Smiling Thrush", and the most obvious, progressive sludge metal. This album is certainly an improvement on their previous full length, Melted On The Inch, and it's most definitely one of the better albums of 2021.
Recommended songs: "Gentle Clovis", "Flatt Controller" and "Orang of Noyn".
