Amon Amarth,but Arch Enemy it's pretty good too

I think opeth is the best... but where are hypocrisy and marduk? if marduk were here i would vote for them, you could at least add one black metal band... and also i belive in peter tagtgren m/

I think Cult of Luna should be on the list...but, I still voted for Opeth!

One of these for me:

Dismember for always coming up with decent material, perhaps not the most original band tho, but they stay true to their roots
Dissection great music and having legendary status
Edge of Sanity masterful oldschool swedish death metal and also very original with melodical and progressive music. they just got "it"
At the Gates obviously greatly recognized for the better or worse. great material from start to end, their earlier stuff are under appriciated imo
Hypocrisy very much good material, melodical death metal from sweden which is NOT on the gothenberg bandwagon

There's so many else too, but for me these are the ones I would pick. Entombed was very important for that super-disorted guitar sound and made great albums in the beginning, but their later releases are not as good

I like the suggestion of GamlaSonn, and ABBA too.

My vote goes for Opeth coz I just love their music...that's all...

This topic is a bit BROAD isnt it? Anyway, Opeth probably wins because I feel theyve been the most consistently brilliant and innovative of all of those bands combined...yet for quite some time now Ive been SEVERELY into Scar Symmetry. So on current form Scar Symmetry will prob win...but they're not on the list so what is a guy to do?

Hej! no one answered me in languages thread, I want to find an electronic swedish <-> english dictionary. Im using Babylone right now but to be honest I dont believe in Babylone so much. it should be a special swedish english dictionary for sure, anyone knows about it?

PS: I have found a good one but cant find its free version or to be honest cracked ! Lingvosoft talking Dictionary! tell if u know where can I find it.

There is no point to make this thread !! though there is hundreds of great swedish kickass bands !! and i can see this in the pole ( others : 45% ) so at least make a specific genres who include the top bands on it !! i say at least ....

This was weirdest post from you realy because 90% metalheads say Swe is best metal country
there many good bands , maybe find my old werry old post and there some good bands, realy i cant sugest swe band to many, and manygood are like local bands

All those countries are good, I have planty MP3 from Ger, Swe bands but there many I have herad only once and I cant choose country, I can say good or bad band and ebsides in Swe there moust popular one UK band how swesdish women in uniform sometines they looks so good

Opeth by far, I don't like too much the other bands there, except from Tiamat, I like some stuff by them, lots of bands are missing.

Better genre representation would be great. Or don't give people the 'other' option.

Btw - MESHUGGAH. Capitalized for a more intense effect. Otherwise would have gone Arch Enemy.

There's just wayyyyy too many possibilities here. Dissection? Bathory? Meshuggah?

Probably Entombed, closely followed by Scar Symmetry.

Carnage for me. I enjoy this style, plus Carnage deserve more recognition, in my opinion, not only as a classic death band, but that was also the beginning of musicians' careers who would later form Arch Enemy and Dismember.
Otherwise, Bathory, Watain and Dissection.

HammerFall and Sabaton is the only good metal band from Sweden that I've heard... Possibly Europe as well, but they are maybe more towards rock-hard rock... I don't really like Death Metal and to bad they are a lot of it here in Sweden. Germany is best metal land by the way.

None of the above bands. Dark Tranquillity is far and away the best, but Opeth and Edge of Sanity are amazing bands as well.

Meshuggah !!!! This is quite challenging considering all of the bands from Sweden all the jewels

Tons of better bands from Sweden than these guys.

Naglfar, Unleshed, Tad Morose, Sabaton, Steel Attack, Anata, and a ton already mentioned.

I loath Meshuggah and Opeth, and AA.

There are very good bands from Sweden, but from these, I'll go with Amon Amarth. They always sound good for me.

All this bands in this poll are stupid and i don't like them exept Opeth, but i voted for others, and by others i mean Aeon.
