i might go see them on 2 consecutive nights for the equivalent of 15 euros, first show will be 2 hours long featuring new songs they never played live and the second one will have Alcest supporting.
don't hate me

Those 2 shows must be the most epic thing evar, at least by this moment, I really envy anyone who is going and hope they rot in hell when they die haha jus' kidding, hope you have a great time seeing the 2 bands now that you've listened to Agalloch, I wish they were more popular here to give a show like that, not that they are not popular at all, but these kind of bands I think aren't the most popular thing here.

I do have this DVD, I have watched it, and like everything else Agalloch puts out...it is well worth the money...
*concert is filmed in black & white
*sound quality is about what you'd expect...not perfect, but good for a small live show
*great set list
*I can't say flawless performance, but still outstanding
*small venue = intimate feel
If you're an Agalloch fan you should have this.
horns up.

I'm not as fond of their older stuff as I am Ashes Against The Grain, but that's really one of the best albums I've ever heard. I really hope it sounds like that. I'm excited.

I'm looking forward to a new album. Is there any specific release date for their new album? I'm stoked.

If a supposed release this year is gonna come, it's about time they should make a public statement regarding the recording process.

It will probably be pushed back to 2011. They will take their time, and they dont really care about when its released. Only when they are happy with the result they usually make a releasedate.. Same thing happend to Primordial... Supposed to release a new album this year, but its now been pushed back to april 2011..! Sucks. At least we know it will be good records, from both bands.

Hmm odd as this may sound I'd prefer the album to come out during the winter... it seems to make the music so much more atmospheric! well only time will tell.

Great news. Who made the album cover? Seems a bit boring? What do you guys think?

Boring? Very atmospheric I'd say. And much better than "Ashes..."
I have the white version:
The new one looks much more interesting to me. And, of course, I can't wait for the album.

Cover couldn't look more Agalloch-y, and it was designed by Fursy Teyssier, same guy who designed cover for Ecáilles de Lune from Alcest and Handful of Stars from Drudkh.

Cool, thanks. Where did you read that?
By the way, have you guys noticed how much the first song on the new album, "They Escaped The Weight Of Darkness" looks like a rip off of the latest Ólafur Arnalds record, "...And They Have Escaped the Weight of Darkness". Just a coincidence? I dont know to be ohnest, but its interesting. Should ask the band on the Facebook page..
Complete tracklist for the record:
1. They Escaped The Weight Of Darkness [3:41]
2. Into The Painted Grey [12:25]
3. The Watcher's Monolith [11:46]
4. Black Lake Nidstang [17:34]
5. Ghosts Of The Midwinter Fires [9:40]
6. To Drown [10:27]
