iron maiden is one of the best acts live because they are all very skilled musicians

Im glad to know that you consider Children Of Bodom is one of best live bands. Never been in any show so Im not sure if the bands are good or not at it. Watching clip, I see that Metallica was/is the very outstanding band in live. Also Slayer is good delegate for live playing.

OK, I should say Iron Maiden. Been of three concerts, going now on the fourth, never enough of them. OK, they are good musicians, many are, too, but those people rock after so many years on the scene with (almost) the same fire they had at the beginning, atmosphere is the best exactly on their concerts...as far as I have had seen

Well first of all Slayer! . Other then that I hear Testaments good live, a little while ago i saw Unearthed live and while I hate Metalcore i have to admit they own live. Other then that I pretty much agree with all the posts above mine lol.

mael mordha are good live, and primal fear are also great.

Children of Bodom and Iced Earth /with Barlow/. Oh and Sentenced while they still were together, Ville just had a great way how to comunicate with the audience.

Well they were in Slovenia about a month ago..they didn't give 110%, and the concert was too short, and they just didn't played as good as they usually do, since I've seen them 4 times before..but I guess they were just tired from the trip and since it was their first concert of that tour, I have to give them a credit for that Listenable, sure, but not the best I've heard from them.

Primordial are also an excellent live band, mostly due to A.A. Nemtheanga's huuuuge stage presence...

GWAR is the best live show I've ever been to. I don't know of another band that sprays you with blood and semen the whole show along with slaughtering pop icons. Not only is GWAR amazing live but the crowd gets so into it, which makes the whole show a lot better.

It depends..I mean, if you find that attractive at a live show..not sure I want to be sprayed with semen on a concert There are bands that don't do that, and the crowd still injoys it and the people are banging their fuckin' heads off.

I guess that different tastes will result in different opinions, but it's not only about the semen spray or the blood, the energy of the band has matched that of the crowd at every show of theirs i've been to. Hopefully i'm not the only one here who loves GWAR live.

Well it should be Slayer but I saw them in London last year and although it was a fantastic gig, with such high expectation as I had, it was little disappointing. They played far too many off the new album and it just doesn't do anything for me. Even on the older stuff they seemed a little tired. So my vote is going for Hypocrisy, they really seem like they want to be up there and their live songs are very close to the recordings.

I saw them live about a year ago with Nile and I thought they were really really good, like you said, they did seem like they love what they do and really want to be up there. I dont even like anything black and I thought they were good...

I guess what I should of said was that I don't ever like bands that use synths or have minute long intro's that are slow and boring (to me at least). Your right though, they aren't labeled black, but from what I heard live I wouldn't label them as only death.

I already said King Diamond, but after watching Grave Digger alive... ugh... If they are not better than King Diamond, they are definetely second on my list

emperor was my favorite... necrophagist and impaled are amazing live as well.

Don't judge me when I say this, but Lordi is so much fun live. There, i said it.

Iv had the pleasure of seeing opeth once... plus i own their dvd lamentaions. And i know no other bands that match them.
Iced earth are also particularly good, or at least they were in the late '90s. I havnt seen anything from them since Athens

And I have seen two times COB live, and I have to say that since the first time I saw them, I like them less for the bad concerts that they made.
