the fastest drummer i think is JOEY JORDISON (slipknot)... and HELLHAMMER (mayhem) ... and RAYMON HERRERA (fear factory)
but i myself enjoy FREDRICK ANDERSON of amon amarth more than others ... i enjoy his style when he is playng

I'm actually friends with George Kollias, we hung out when he came to Auckland a few days ago and he showed me some techniques.. (Moeller mainly)
I remember asking him about the WFD competitions and why he doesn't compete, to which he replied that the drummers who compete there often lose sight of why they drum in the first place. All of the guys mentioned above are extremely fast drummers, but what is speed without variation and creativity? Boring, thats what
Anyway, I reckon that the topic should be more along the lines of "Who is the Fastest (insert something about creativity/skill) drummer? and I would say George Kollias, Pete Hammoura and Pete Sandoval - excuse my Nile/Morbid Angel loving bias haha

What the hell lol you totally missed my point. I was talking about how speed alone is boring, and that I think drummers who are really fast but also have great skill/creativity are the best. "MIKE PORTNOY of Dream Theater and DANNY CAREY" - these guys don't play at the speeds that George Kollias, Pete Hammoura and Pete Sandoval do.
And yeah thanks, but I am aware of the WFD rankings. lol

George Kollias, Absolutely.... Derek Roddy is too fast too.
But I don't know why competing on rapidity while rapidity is only a stereotype.
Kollias is the fastest, but I do prefer Derek Roddy, because in addition to earthquakes, I need some Beauty.

HELLHAMMER is the fastest drummer, his performance in Dimmu Borgir was excellent, taht guy seriouslly rocks

the drummer from Berzerker, hes not the best drummer, but his speed is insane,and in my opinion the fastest.

Gene Hoglan from Dark Angel. His drumming on Darkness Descends is just incredible.

This is easy... whoever plays the drums in The Berzerker.
Hellhammer, John Boecklin and Frost are good too though. And Joey Jordinson is actually pretty damn fast..

Actually not really heard so many drummers so i could give a really good answer, but Dave Lambardo and Mikkey Dee are two very fast and fantastic drummers

Those are the fastest I could find on Youtube, that Derek Roddy is pretty quick too...

Honorable mentions: Frost, Nick Barker, Flo Mounier, Hellhammer, and Inferno.

As far as technical speed combined with interesting creativity I say Neil Peart, Mike Portnoy, Yanic Bercier, Tomas Haake and Danny Carey.

Gene Hoglan, Hellhammer, Inferno, George Kollias....hell I don't really know.

Dave Lombardo handles that double bass pedal extremely well... MY personal favorite is Mike Portnoy, in my opinion, this guy has got it all.

Hellhammer. I have yet to seen some who does rolls as fast as he does. The drummer from Berzerker is extremely fast too.
