Hammerfall have been around a while now, but even though weren't spawned out of the century they take most of their influence from, they have the number of followers to match of a top one who has. Album number seven, a tenaciously titled "No Sacrifice, No Victory" and is the first album with previous bassist Fredrik Larsson back on the thick strings, and new guitarist Pontus Norgren. A new Hammerfall, a refreshed lineup - a fantastic album.

Lord Darkness
I'm just listening to it for the first time, and as far as I can tell, its plain simple, even though they've at least mantained their style, I can't say a single song stand out on the whole album, which either mean they don't have fillers and/or there aren't any great songs. I hope I'll change my mind after a second play.

I can see what you see not. Vision milky then eyes rot.
When you turn they will be gone, whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be, shadows move where light should be.
Out of darkness, out of mind, cast down into the Halls of the Blind.

Quite solid piece of work. It has a good flow and the songs are all pretty memorable. It does not affect my rating but the cover My Sherona is abysmal.

I can't confirm it but in the title track that has to be Andi Deris singning the "no" part. Anyone with the booklet who can confirm or deny it?

This one is a little bit better than Chapter V: Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken and definitely better than Threshold, strong 7/10. A good number of fun songs this time and the most stand-outs are "Any Means Necessary", "Legion", "One Of A Kind" and "Hallowed Be My Name". The instrumental "Something For The Ages" is nice too, almost all HammerFall instrumentals are at least decent. So, nothing super spectacular, but an okay album.
