As The title says it, this is a forum to discuss about your favorite one-man bands. and also a place where you might learn about new bands.

What is a one-man band might you ask?
well... its a band who consist of only 1 member. I think bands like that are great since you can clearly hear one's tought expressed through music without any contradictions. surely there are lots of 1 man bands that are very suckish but still I think one man bands are more suitable for Black Metal.

My Favorite band at the moment is Ad Hominem. With its war like riffs and and black atmosphere.
I am also alot into Kristallnacht and Satanic Warmaster aswell.

EDIT: I didn't really know where to put this thread so I decided to put it here even if most one man band are BM I am speaking of one man bands in general.

Nine Inch Nails, Trent Reznor really paved the way for Industrial Metal to reach the mainstream, although most would think of that as a bad thing, but whatever.

Bathory, IMO any other one-man band have a song compared to the might of "A Fine Day To Die"

check
Horn - Landscapes On Hold II
Sorgsvart - Bleivikmaen ein Haglandsfaen

and then tell me again

not saying the song is bad, but i say there are songs that can be compared...and maybe even "The Firedragon Of Black Sun" by Graveland leaves in me greater impression than this Bathory's...also i find "One Rode To Asa Bay" way batter than "A Fine Day To Die"...

Ugh, Burzum, Nortt, Xasthur, and maybe Satanic Warmaster... I don't know, there is plenty of awesome one-man bands out there... But I think Burzum is a bit ahead of them all.

Quorthon was simply the best. His songwriting is immortal and will never be forgotten! All hail Bathory and hail the hordes!

I like some bands from my country, The Arkitecht, a progressive metal band led by Genaro Ochoa, it's quite cool, I'm looking forward for his next album. Ticket To Hell and Majestic Downfall are to bands led by the same person, the first one is a Thrash metal band and the second one is a Doom metal band, both with pretty decent debut albums.

Actually I like a lot Pensées Nocturnes, Vaerohn has some new ideas uploaded to his myspace and they sound pretty promising, the next album will be better than "Vacuum" for sure.

Devin Townsend is also a great solo musician, yes, he gets some help from other guest musicians, but his solo work is truly amazing, I love this man.

And last but not least, my favorite one-man band is one called SIG:AR:TYR, a canadian band led by Daemonskald, this one is a Blackened Folk Metal band, it's quite cool, very atmospheric with really nice accoustic passages, it's very unknown but it's actually one of my favorite bands.

I'm going to say old Mortiis. I REALLY love his ambient stuff. At one point, back in early 1996, it was literally and physically the only thing I could listen to.

Definitely Ayreon. Arjen is such a talented musician and song writer. Metal needs more guys like him.
