New Mad Max is pretty good, about on par with Road Warrior, better than either the original or Beyond Thunderdome. Basically a 2 hour car chase. (but much more entertaining that that sounds, though)

It probably won't be the masterpiece they make it out to be, but I won't let that influence my enjoyment if it turns out to be a solid movie. I like Mad Max, but don't love it, so I'm guessing I'll feel similarly about this new one.

The previews looked terrible - cars look crap, too much CG and generally lacking in the gritty punk vibe of the first two.

It's apparently CGI free - when you see 30 customized cars driving through the desert, that's because 30 customized cars drove through the desert. Like a blown up version of the last 3rd to Road Warrior. Plus how's this truck not awesome?

Oh, and the head badguy is the same actor as the head baddie in the 1st one.

It definitely has CGI, just not for the stunts and stuff that other directors would lazily create on a computer screen. It seems to be a nice mix of practical and computer effects if you ask me. Still have to see it though.

Nice one, more realistic as other one, more new historical characters and sqweror(animal whit tail, who jumps from trea to trea (btw my cat wanted catch it yesterday) rider roman emperor and more adventures, nice movie, I like it.-

I'm feeling rather concerned about myself right now, because I just got inspired recently by the character of Patrick Bateman.

He inspired a bit of writing I've been getting on with lately. The thing is, I kinda get the mindset he's in (of course, minus the bloodlust) and even the delusion, and I feel like I've been going through my own version of a similar thing. It's just on a different topic.

Nice Swedish film, I like Swedish Lisbeth Salander not americam, she is more atracktive, more social, not American verison (one film) better looking, I like this one, nice Swedish movie

I watched the Swedish "dragon tatoo girl" trilogy a while ago, it was quite good, Americans are working on the second part remake, let's see if they deliver something decent. As for the first part, I enjoyed the sewdish version more, obviously.

I did not really understand why they made an American version of it. It's just a run-of-the-mill thriller/detective story, the likes of which Swedish contemporary literature is saturated with. Really weird to do the same thing twice in such a short time. Are American so averse to foreign films, or what?

In other news, saw Fellini's Casanova. It was lewd, hilarious, disturbing and solemn. It was episodic, and there wasn't much of a plot to tie together the different events of Casanova's life, but it was certainly a vivid, visually stunning interpretation of his life. (Unlike that ridiculously bad Heath Ledger film.) It felt really long, but it was easier to follow and the character more likable than 8½ or Rome. As a whole, it was a little uneven and incoherent, but I'll probably remember some of the amazing scenes for years.

I have yet to see Amarcord, though, which is recommended to me as the best Fellini.
