20.06.2009 - 19:17 Written by Deadmeat on 20.06.2009 at 15:31 That's a good point, let's just call Mr. Mangini the fastest non-band drummer? Although it would be awesome if his skills would be put into (good) use in an 80's speed metal band. And the guitars would match the speed.

Dave Lombardo was a pretty fast Drummer for Slayer

Already mentionned, but Proscriptor from Absu and Melechesh is indeed a fast dude.

John Longstreth, Origin is hella fast. His double bass is like a thousand of crickets chirping in your garden.

Jimmy Degrasso ive seen live and he can be pretty damn quick when he wants to be, Dave Lombardo is quite impressive, but to find the fastest you really need to look into black metal circles. Trym, Hellhammer, Frost all are amongst the fastest iv heard. But there are others out there who more than deserve a mention. For Trym - Try Subtle Manipulation (with Zyklon), or maybe Thus Spake the Nightspirit (with Emperor) well there are of course other but those are good example of fast drumming. For Hallhammer - Try My Death (with Mayhem) this piece is mighty quick, but he has a lot of song which are blindingly quick. For Frost - Fuck Satyricon this is the worst example of his work, Try 1349 (I am Abomination is awesome).

Definitely NOT Hellhammer, Sandoval, Inferno, Kollias, Yeung, Rodney, and all the others people love to name. Their speed and technique are great, legendary evenl, but for pure speed you need men like Marco Pitruzzella.

Vitek R.I.P. of Decapitated Dave Suzuki of Vital Remains Flo Monier of Cryptopsy George Koolias of Nile Pete Sandoval of Morbid Angel 'That son of a bitch' from Dying fetus There's probably a drummer or two who can top those drummers in speed, but in the top-10 fastest drummers list, those 6 drummers would definitely make the list. EDIT: oh, and that boring fucktard from 'the berzerker' too, coz i'm sure everyone would mention him.

I once saw Chester Bennington ranked the 46th greatest metal vocalist in Hit Parader's list. Fred Durst was 71st, and apparently David Bowie and Joan Jett are considered metal vocalists.

10.07.2010 - 20:23 Written by [user id=107019] on 10.07.2010 at 15:21 Well, you've got one thing right. Neil Peart is a drumming god. The fact that you suggest that he is either below Joey Jordison or even on the same list as Joey Jordison shows that you have a lot of learning to do when it comes to drummers, whether they're in a 'metal' band or playing in one of the greatest prog rock bands of all time.

13.07.2010 - 15:58 Written by vezzy on 12.07.2010 at 17:08 Oh I read that Hit Parader list, too. I don't think it's really that bad. there are some awesome vocalist in this list. Rob Halford, Robert Plant, Klaus Meine, Bon Scott, Dee Snider, Udo Dirkschneider and Brian Johnson and I actually dson't really care the order. But I was wondering why Fred Durst is in this list and why Jonathan Davis is the 16th greatest vocalist(I Don't hate his voice but it isn't really that amazing).
