I searched and was kind of suprised to find there was not a Carcass poll. So, here it is. You know how this works, vote for your favorite and give us an explanation as to why. I've only included their full-length albums.

My vote goes to Necroticism: Descanting The Insalubrious. The sound on this album is just better than their other albums IMO. The production wasn't bad and the whole album was solid.

Enjoy.

Fuck this is hard...uhh...maaaybe Symphonies of Sickness. It's difficult to choose from that and Necrotism, but I think that Symphonies of Sickness slightly edges out the others. That album still had a grindcore edge to it, and has slightly better production than Reek of Putrefaction. Plus, it is filled with great songs, such as Exhume to Consume and Raptured in Purelence, but the whole album is consistently awesome.

I voted for Necroticism: Descanting The Insalubrious because it is good album, solid sound, and guitar riffs are better than before, I didn't listen last album so maybe it would be my favorite

I'll pick Heartwork. It's an hard choice between this and Necroticism, but I consider my choice one of Death Metal's biggest works. And Death Certificate kics your ass!

I only have Heartwork album, and I love it. But I'm not voting. At least until I hear 1 or 2 more albums to compare.

Necroticism gets my vote - the sound is awesome, and the riffs are solid and chunky all the way through... heartwork is good also, with its melodeath qualities but necroticism for the win!

Necroticism for me. Longer, more intricate songs, but still retaining all of the aggression. Heartwork is a close second, though.

Swansong even if it is not brutal as other albums i thnik it's one of the best albums because the lyrics are so strong, based on the book "1984",Walker did a great job on this album.I liked music very much too.

I'd have to go with Heartwork but it's a very close call between all of them save the debut (which I've always had a harder time getting into for some reason). Heartwork was my introduction to the band and I have always felt it meshed accessibility with the aesthetics of death metal beautifully.

Just a heads up since you seem to avoid the whole explanation thing when you post in these threads.

Sorry. So, I picked Heartwork as it is closer to my musical preferances than their other albums.

How can one pick just one favorite Carcass album?! This is pretty hard because I like every album but I do like some more than others, sooo....
Symphonies of Sickness would probably be my favorite.

Heartwork - The riffs are sick and the drumming is just an absolute perfect fit for what the guitars are doing. Necroticism is a close second, and at #3 Surgical Steel is more than was fair to expect from a band after 17 years' hiatus.
