Some people say that Six Degrees Of Separation plays Doom Metal. Well, honestly the more I listen to this album, the less I believe them? There is nothing comparable to bands like Mourning Beloveth or Black Sabbath here, no Six Degrees Of Separation plays some kind of Dark Thrash / Death Metal and even if it's not really Doom (well maybe a bit sometime but that's not pure Doom) it's a good release and I'm sure that you'll like it.

"Chain-Driven Sunset" is a cool original album, really Six Degrees Of Separation is a surprising band. Their music is a nice mix of Neo Thrash (with strong riffs a la Gojira) with melodic Death Metal melodies and yes, sometime, some kind of mid-tempo songs which can remind you Doom Metal (but really fast Doom then)? It's dark in general but catchy with good riffs and strong catchy rhythms, "Chain-Driven Sunset" is a nice album of Dark Thrash with some great melodies and some songs like "Tekno-Prophet" or "Visionary" are real hits. Six Degrees Of Separation is a good band which plays a really original Metal and even if "Chain-Driven Sunset" is not a perfect album and maybe goes too many times in a dozen of directions (yes it can be weird to listen to a real Thrash song and something a bit more Heavy or even Doom on the next track) it's a correct and pleasant album.

I can tell you that the guys of Six Degrees Of Separation are good musicians and I really like the voice of Doctor who is probably not a great singer but who is able to give a lot of emotions when he sings/tells his lyrics. On the other hand the mixing of the album is a bit average and I find the music and the instruments a bit too loud sometime. It's not horrible though but that's a bit sad that Six Degrees Of Separation didn't find a way to have a perfect sound because they play a complex music which deserves it to be perfectly enjoyed.

Yes, even if it's a bit different of course, the new Six Degrees Of Separation will remind you the music of Gojira and that's not a bad thing don't you think? Maybe that the release is not perfect and too bad that the production is a bit average but still, Six Degrees Of Separation is a good and honest band and at least they know how to do original music. We're not in front of the album of the year but "Chain-Driven Sunset" so if you like dark Thrash Metal, have a look on this release and maybe that you'll find a new band which was created fo

I liked that album. I t was the first I heard from this band. I'd say it's like Post-Doom with Thrash elements. Nice change.

A pretty decent album, but my God the pronunciation by the vocalist is horrendous it makes that Scorpions' Klaus Meine almost seem like brilliant English.

I disagree with you calling them non-doom. IMO they are doom, but more like the up-tempo doom as played by bands such as Solstice which almost veers off into Manowar and thrash territory at times.

Its very good album. Agree not pure doom, but clearly influenced by traditional doom. Excellent vocal.
