Is funny how countries have "specialties" in Heavy Metal, like, Finland is more Gothic driven, Norway is the homeland Black Metal and Sweden has a long tradition in Death Metal. But there are more than 200 countries in the world and not everyone has a specialty in a genre. Italy has been categorized as a Power Metal country, due to the massive Power Metal bands coming from there, but if I asked you to name some Brutal Death Metal bands from Italy, what would you say? Maybe avid fans of the genre could name Natron among others, but really, are there so that many Death Bands from Italy? I don't think so.

That bring us to our next review, Hour Of Penance from Italy. They play Brutal Death Metal, you know the drill, undecipherable low grunted vocals, super fast machine-gun drumming and insane riffing, the faster, the merrier.

Sadly I think that brutal death Metal is a genre condemned to disappear in obscurity, because the little complexity it shows, that's why most Brutal Death Metal bands never achieve success, because the lack of originality between the acts, every band sound just like the previous (with some exceptions of course), and again, sadly, Hour Of Penance is not the exception.
Not one track worth mentioning here, all sound equal to me, the same drumming patterns, the same boring vocals, don't forget the ugly cover art, nah, not worth my time.

This is the first full-length of Hour Of penance, and I don't think they're going to leave an everlasting impression in the Metal scene, if you want to know how this sounds, just go on to your city's main avenue in rush hour, and hear all the chaos in there, that might give you a hint. One piece of advise to these guys, if you were thinking in quitting your day jobs and dedicate all your time to this band, well? think again. Please.

you should listen to their new album "The Vile Conception" and then re-think what you said in the last part of your review, the irony will hurt as hell

Wow, how wrong this reviewer turned out to be. Hour Of Penance turned out to be THE Brutal Death band to emerge out of Italy, and they certainly did leave a lasting impression in the Metal world. We just can't ever predict the future now, can we ??

I didn't even think this album was that bad. I mean, it wasn't anything like their current releases, but a 3.5? Ouch. I'd say it's at least a 4.5, maybe even a 5.
