Not even close to metal, but they're one of my favirotes...and I'll tell you why. They have an amazing singer in Brent Smith who can write deep lyrics, and can express them with extreme range, style, and melody. They have talented instrument players as well, but they're not quite the hook of the band. They also seem to have done a great job of fusing Southern Rock with Alternative and Hard Rock. Any opinions?

im right there with you man. awesome hard rock band both albums are good. my favorite album is leave a whisper though by far. i cant wait i get to see them in 2 weeks in beloit wisconsin they are headlining the festival.

The vocalist sure have a good voice. I like some of their songs, but don't know any album completly.

''Fly from the inside'', 45 and ''The Crow and the butterfly'' are very good. ''Devour'' remind me of Disturbed at some parts, really cool.

My piercer got the album by Shinedown through mail and put it on when I got pierced. Every time I hear 'Devour' I'm reminded of having my nostril done. Which wasn't pleasant, I'll tell ya that much.
