Didn't find any topic about this, so I decided to make one. So, Whats your favourite album from Primordial?

I'll go for The Gathering Wilderness. First album I bought from them. Was very impressed after the first listen. Strong songs, beautiful melodies and powerful vocals. And also a beautiful cover art.

The only album that I have heard all the way through from them is Redemption at the Puritan's Hand from last year, however I have heard some of To The Namless Dead, and it sounds awesome. I probably have to go with that, just based on what I've heard from it.

It definitely comes down to The Gathering Wilderness and To the Nameless Dead, but I find myself listening to the latter a little bit more often and remembering it just a bit better - the consistency is ridiculous through both albums, and neither have any filler or anything resembling a weak link, but as a whole I think To the Nameless Dead is just a bit stronger. But they're still both two of the greatest folk / black metal albums I've ever heard.

From that list - The Gathering Wilderness. I got it years ago when it just came out, and at the time it bored me to tears. After Redemption... came out (which is currently my first pick) I had to revisit their entire discog, and I felt like I was listening to an entirely different album when I gave The Gathering Wilderness another go. As the OP pointed out - it was powerful from top-to-bottom, including the artwork. Definitely one of the most worthwhile revisits I've ever done.

The Gathering Wilderness. It has two of the best Primordial songs: Cities Craved in Stone and The Coffin Ships.
Though To The Nameless Dead come close.

Someone needs to add Redemption at the Puritan's Hand btw...
