I actually really love "Demolition"! It is more of a Priest album than "Jugulator", as it has a variety in song styles which is in keeping with the Priest tradition. The inclusion of ballads especially was a definite sign that they wanted to leave the one dimensional nature of "Jugulator" behind. This is a double edge sword though, as it is a pretty mixed bag, and is not as consistent in its quality as "Jugulator" was. However, tracks like the storming opener "Machine Man", "Bloodsuckers", the ass kicking boogie metal of "Feed On Me" and the two ballads became instant faves for me, and they are just great heavy metal songs to me. The pounding robotic stomp of "Cyberface" is also a highlight of the album for me.
"Demolition" is without doubt the more schizophrenic of the two Ripper Owens fronted Priest albums. But it is also the most rewarding. And although its inconsistency just stops it from becoming a classic, there is more than enough great tracks to make it a worthy addition to the Priest catalogue. I like this album a lot!

IMO you are a big analyzer everyone has different taste and I believe that Jugulator is better than it but totally both of them as compared to 80's Priest albums aren't good.

I believe most people don't like this album because it has the holy words "Judas Priest" written on it. To me this album is far better than 90% of most metal releases, pretty sure it would be considered very good had it been released by an unknown band.

This one is consider to be the worst Judas Priest album, and I can understand why people don't like it. It strays quite far from the classic Judas Priest concept and tries do something different in many songs. However for me, this is a good album and one of my favourite from the post-Painkiller era. The lyrics are at many places quite stupid but the there's a lot of great riffs and the vocals lines are catchy. "Jekyll and Hyde" is a great track with pounding verses, "Subturfuge" is another highlights showing of Priest trying do some more modern metal approach and the chorus in "Metal Messiah" is huge. This is just a couple of the highlighs. If you have an open mind and forget the band name on the front you will probably enjoy this one.

Better as previous one, a lit industrial sound, but few songs were great, hit songs.

I respect JP for trying something different, but still this album does little to nothing for me.

For a long time I always felt put off by listening to this album, mainly due to the albums length, and I was skeptical about Halford's absence of course, but it's just as bad, if not worse than I had anticipated, not a single song here stands out for me, the songwriting is beyond boring by Judas Priest standards, it lacks energy, and there's very few interesting riffs and solo's. I would honestly say this is their worst album, but it didn't help the fact I went into this album with low expectations to begin with.

Improvement from Jugulator, doesn't sound like classic JP almost at all, which combined to the fact that the songs are mostly mediocre, isn't good. There's plenty of songs that just need to be skipped, there is no other option for me, and only maybe a handful can be called as good. The album also sounds super overproduced for a heavy metal album. One of the biggest waste of time albums when listened fully, competes with Nostradamus for that spot.

Not quite as bad as many people say, I found a few songs like Machine Man, Bloodsuckers, Feed On Me and Subterfuge to be pretty great. Still not as good as most of their other albums though, a few songs that can be skipped

Giving this another chance, another listen, it's such a strange album, it's not bad, but I can't say it's that good either. On the few songs, the guitars have such a strange tone.
I don't mind that the band is hardly recognizable here or that they tried new things, the final result is very hit and miss for me, it is such an uneven album.
If I ever made a Judas Priest ranking, the Owens era albums would be at the bottom.
