Overkill's best album, lots of cool stuff on here

For me, this is the best Overkill album - without influences of Iron Maiden (1984-1987).
This record sounds more varied and interesting than 'Horrorscope'.

Emm... No Maiden influences? The harmony during the solo from "End Of The Line" is pure Maiden. It sounds like a section from Phantom Of The Opera!

I agree it is the best Overkill album though, very underrated.

That section sounds like something from Powerslave to me.

This sounds mediocre, especially if I compare it with The Years Of Decay or Taking Over.

100% agree. Never saw appeal in these songs

Such a classic sound. Really enjoyed it. The bass is even more significant here than the last release and was really good. Loved how thrash was such a no-nonsense genre in the past. The album gets going from the very second you hit play and thrashes hard. No meandering or boring stuff.

I'm not a blind fanboy of the band; tbh actually I'm a fan of this band, but they have so many albums from which I think maybe 4 or 5 are worth listening multiple times. And UTI isn't one of them

Finally getting round to listening to more albums of the sub "big four" thrash bands (Testament, Overkill, Exodus etc.) aside from their most highly regarded releases. This album is great and reminds me why I loved "The Years of Decay" so much when I heard it as a teenager. Stand out tracks for me include: "Shred" (Great opener!), "Hello from the Gutter", "Brain Fade" and "Head First" - all-out Overkill-style aggressive songs with some really punchy riffs! Although I can't help feeling like the riff from "Hello from the Gutter" could have been written by a glam band! (Is it just me?) but still awesome! "End of the Line" has a heavy Iron Maiden vibe to it too which is cool! Glad I checked this album out and will definitely be delving further into their discography

Good stuff as always from Overkill, but I don't know, some of the songs are a bit undercooked. Some really don't click with me, like Shred or brainfade, yeah they have some cool moments, but the vocal lines are reaaally boring. Compared to let's say, Powerfuckingsurge, or Hammerhead.
