Ozzy Osbourne - Starring In Super Bowl Commercial With Justin Bieber

Okay, NOW we have a legit reason to go picket all upcoming Ozzy Osbourne concerts.

Just when you thought you heard it all, the Prince of Darkness has decided to star in a Best Buy commercial that will air during the Super Bowl... with at his side teen heartthrob and beloved internet hate figure Justin Bieber.

Best Buy - the largest home electronics chain in the USA - marketing chief Drew Panayiotou said that Justin Bieber "symbolically represents something important to the brand message." Executives won't discuss details of the 30-second spot featuring stars from two very different generations. The ad, to air in the game's third quarter, was filmed earlier this month at Universal Studios.

Best Buy declined to say what it's paying Bieber. But it's at least $1 million, estimates Noreen Jenney Laffey, president of Celebrity Endorsement Network, which links celebs with advertisers.

Oh Ozzy

Stomach-churning Neat pictures taken during the shooting of the futuristic advertisement can be watched over here.

And to think that Ronnie James Dio died, and this s****** f***** is still around -.-

Fuck. You.

Ozzy is a legend but by this point he's also essentially got learning difficulties. You think Ozzy chose this? hell no his management did Ozzy just see's that he'll get paid for it and signs, or rather is told to sign it.

Also you can swear on the internet, your mum won't read it.

Ozzy is the most overrated vocalist in metal, worst vocal of Black Sabbath ever, I like any album of Black Sabbath that does not have Ozzy in it, and he became a puppet show of mainstream pop culture and estamblishment, MTV dark play doll, who just makes most of the metal fans laugh at him. Some people simply do not know when it's time to retire. Btw his manager is his wife so, that's another minus ...

So you don't like Black Sabbath, Vol IV, Paranoid, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath or Sabotage? If you're being serious then you're incredibly retarded. Almost as much as ozzy.

Its an advert. it lasts 30 seconds. if you don't like it don't watch it. if you don't like just beiber don't listen to him. if you don't like ozzy don't listen to him. Concentrate on what you do like instead of what you hate. hating is a pointless waste of energy. it takes less energy to ignore leaving more energy to listen to the stuff you like.

Looking at those outfits, maybe Ozzy has an evil scheme for JB all along: Sending him up into Dead Space.

Wow some of these comments are ignorant. Give the guy a break! He made music for years before all this crap. He's making money, so what? It's a good thing for him. I would do it if i were offered a commercial. I don't even care about JB. If no-one bitched about him, i would never have known him in the first place. If he made money singing crap, good for him.

It's not that big a deal.. Early, classic Black Sabbath is untouchable, and some of Ozzy's solo material has also been great - but nowadays, as others have suggested, he's kind of a media pawn. He may come across as a bit of a tool nowadays in some ways, but he doesn't deserve any real hate IMO.

Nothing necessarily wrong with making a commercial, either. Some commercials involving aging Metal 'gods' can be fucken great, such as the recent advert for Kronenbourg lager which features Motorhead playing 'Ace of Spades' in a laid-back, bluesy style, which is actually pretty cool!

You are pretty much spot on. I just don't see how Ozzy's media choices should affect peoples opinions of him. It's like when people heard St Anger from Metallica for the first time. So many fans began to hate Metallica for it just from that album. I mean, you don't need to say you hate them, just you didn't like their music for a particular period or album. The same goes for Ozzy and how he is, as you describe, a 'media pawn' in his later years in life.

You also have to remember that modern bands will eventually age, and band members will do the same thing (perhaps not as bad as Ozzy... but maybe not?) and make ads etc. We could be seeing Mikael Ackerfelt (hate trying to spell his name) in a few decades advertising for an insurance company haha.

Exactly. People who hate Ozzy are bigger tools than he himself can sometimes come across. lol

Lemmy has actually been in commercials on British tv before! One for Kit-Kat, and a hilarious one for Walkers Crisps.

i will never deny it, and many people need to wake up and see that "trveness" is merely a way to look better with your peers, but then again metalheads are so not trendy and never bow down to fads!

still, i don't really know why Ozzy would do it, he already has more than enough money to live 3-4 very comfortable lives. maybe he was bored? who the hell knows

Exactly! Hehe, I remember both those ads, it was amusing to see them again! I like how Lemmy can do that kind of thing, given his reputation for being a 'bad-ass' he can show a dry sense of humour or send himself up without being seen as a 'sell-out' or whatever.

I can almost imagine that!! It's an interesting time in Metal with regards to bandmember's ages.. Will Opeth still be around in the 2020's, with Mikael being a famous name like Ozzy or Lemmy? Who knows!

I can certainly imagine Dani Filth doing something of that nature in a couple of decades, promoting cosmetics for aging goths.. "Because you're worth it"!

As soon as you mentioned the new ad with Motorhead in it, (which is in fact awesome, as is the bluesy rendition of Ace Of Spades! xD) those classic Lemmy ads immidiately sprang into my head. Sad, I know.. hehee :O

I never saw Lemmy as being a sellout for doing those ads, or appearing on "Never Mind The Buzzcocks". lol I think it would be hard for him to do anything now that could make anyone class him as a sell out. Apart from maybe playing on "The X Factor", or appearing on "Strictly Come Dancing". Not that I could ever see either happening in a month of Sundays!

*Pictures Dani Filth throwing his hair back and saying "Because you're worth it!" in faux feminine voice*. I can see that happening actually! lol
