BITCHES! STOP BRINGING THIS ALBUM DOWN WITH YOUR 1s!!! D:<
Thank you.
You wanted them made visible, and now look what has happened. You've doomed us all.

Very well done album! The first -core album I've ever liked, but then again, the thrash and death dominates in this.
Good job, Sylosis. \m/

A slight improvement on their debut album, yet i prefer the vocals on 'Conclusion of an age'. Plus 'Empyreal (Part 2)' would have been better off being conjoined with 'Empyreal'.

Damn solid album. Well balanced thrash and melodeath that even the so-so vocals don't spoil.
Although: 72 minutes long? Why?
Try to listen again the album and skip A Serpent's Tongue, Awakwning and Kingdom Of Solitude

8.5/10 leaning towards an 8 for me.
An enjoyable album. A bit more experimentation and variety and it'd push it to a strong 9 for me.

This album gets better with every listen! I first was put off by the screaming ("deathcore" is what you call it?) vocals that reminded me of Gojira and the 14(!) tracks. But listening to it more often, I find the nuance, and the emotion in the vocals is truly palpable. 14 tracks are in fact too much to listen to in one sitting, I think. But there are some really great songs here. I really like the technical guitar-work throughout, especially on "Procession", "Empyreal", "Where the Sky Ends", "Apparitions", "Altered State of Conciousness", and "Beyond the Resurrected".
I love the artwork as well (nice choice, musclassia ). It's very similar to Demigod's Slumber of Sullen Eyes, I find.
I will be listening to this more often!

I wouldn't say it's got anything to do with deathcore really on the vocal front - it's like a half-scream/half-shout, while deathcore vocals we're talking more brutal growls and pig grunts. It probably counts as a metalcore vocal style, although I think Josh has a fairly distinctive voice that's not obviously similar to the classic metalcore vocalists.
And yes, it's certainly a long-ass fucking album, but it's one of those cases where the songwriting level is so great throughout that it's not a downside for me; admittedly, however, the fact that it was such a formative record for me probably makes me embrace the length more than I would if I did today. And I love the artwork - I got the special pre-order bundle back when it came out that came with a flag version of it - used to have it hung up in my university room, but no idea where it is now!

Artwork looks familiar. Wonder where else have I seen that.

I know the feeling. I use this example a lot here (I'm sorry) but once again I'm reminded of my adoration for Vektor's Terminal Redux, which is actually 73 minutes long, while this album here is 72 minutes long! There, I love the sci-fi story told from the perspective of the antagonist so much that I don't mind the length at all!

Gave this a listen after a while - too long - and every single minute of it is so incredible. I should do a retrospective review at some point just to renew my vows, can't believe an album so generally rooted in thrash can make me feel such strong emotions, what a masterpiece. Heck, even the bonus track Earth's Dust is better than the best song of many bands' careers

Seeing them live tonight, along with Revocation, Distant and Life Cycles. I wish they would play Empyreal as it's probably my favorite song from them but alas it doesn't seem to be in the cards. I'll report back.
