Best of 2011.
The best song in my opinion is scumbag in disguise because of the new stuff in this song.
And wut's with this drummer? no words can describe this guy,the new flavor he is adding to this band is awesome.
I can't keep this album out from my playlist.
Although i somehow agree with the reviewer in that harsh comment 'the new album simply sounds like a plastic overproduced soulless toy to play with just once' but i also agree with the idea that this album is 'by-the-book thrash. What else do you need?'
And i really needed that injection of thrash music along with the Ironbound injection.

Honestly, I don't see the hype with this. Bored the crap outta me. Just another Thrash album with no creativity whatsover.
Covering Fire is the only thing keeping me from giving it a lower rating. Best song on the album.

Yeah, gotta agree with Lit.
Though, I did enjoy individual songs on this release. The opener is fun as hell, there are great moments in D.O.A., The Cleric and Scumbag in Disguise. But that's just it, moments, almost always ruined by spasms of boring riffs and weak mid-tempo sections.
Oh yeah, and Testament want their fucking riff back, kids.

Best thrash album of the year IMO

One of the best thrash albums ever among with the great classics...just because is 2011 doesn't meen it can't compete with the 90's

D.O.A. is the proof that new thrash metal bands can also be good.

Good modern thrash album again by Havok, I cannot say that I'm disappointed. But what I can say instead is that Burn beats this album in my books, because of its exceptionally strong tracks "The Root of All Evil", "Morbid Symmetry", "Category of the Dead" and "Afterburner", while here we've got "Prepare for Attack", "Fatal Intervention", "No Amnesty" and "Covering Fire" that are also great songs, but only the first two being among my Havok favorites. I can totally see why people would prefer this album, but I don't agree on scores higher than 8 for this one. A strong album nevertheless for semi-intense/intense headbanging sessions

Another very strong thrash record. Production is more audible than on the band's debut but the formula is much the same, maybe a couple of songs demonstrate more complex musicianship but the rest is no-frills thrash pretty much. Highlights: "No Amnesty" and "D.O.A.".

8.5/10 slightly leaning towards an 8 for me (a tough one to call!)

Despite many considering this to be one of the best modern thrash record's I'm still not entirely convinced it is. Still, it's a very solid thrash record, I just don't find it as thrilling as the debut.

Vastly superior from the debut for it's length and vigor. Yeah, I do agree that folks have overtly inflated tagging "one of the best modern thrash record", when it's just one of them. No doubt it's the best Havok album to this date.

This definitely ain’t a “modern thrash classic”, especially since it gets utterly annihilated by other releases in the same year like Toxic Holocaust, Warbringer, Skeletonwitch and a number of others.

This is just paint-by-numbers Testament/Slayer worship. Debut is definitely a lot better, if nothing else.

this album is boring.

Again, it's an issue from your end, and the least anyone can say about this release is "boring". On the contrary, I felt "Burn" sounded totally offbeat infront of Time is Up.

I agree with Cynic here, I simply can't understand how someone who enjoys thrash can find this release boring. It's beyond my comprehension and although a great album, I don't see where Burn is superior. It's weaker in performance, writing and production. Beats me tbh but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

And Burn is almost 50 minutes when Time is Up is 42 which adds about two songs length to go astray. TL;DR: more good songs on debut

Never had issue with length as long as it's enthralling and pulling the listeners in. Burn, in its own discretion have good songs, but when it came to Time is Up, it looks fragile. There is a huge difference between two releases.

Maybe “boring” was a bit harsh. It’s good for what it is: serviceable, middle-of-the-road thrash that’s good to play every once in a while. Calling it a modern classic is ludicrous, and like I said it can’t hold a candle to the likes of other 2011 albums like Conjure And Command, Forever Abomination, Forbidden World, Outer Isolation, Surreal Overdose, etc.

Man if every song were as good as Covering Fire this album would be much better.

It could have been "harsh", if you had validated your statement. You threw "boring" so clumsily that it looked amusing.

Still holds up. I would dare to say it is indeed a classic.
