The EP has three songs and one interlude, and kicks off with a subtly different tone to the previous album. Fidelium was recorded and mastered by Leon of Mithras, who lends his band's distinctive thick and heavy production to this EP. The first two tracks especially are blindingly immense, Sarpanitum have moved away from reproducing the Behemoth sound on their album and have made steps towards stamping some authority with their own style. The tone of the music is incorporated with some atmospheric elements, especially apparent on the last track "Sanctus Incendia", and overall is much more original and refreshing than the band's album.
Sarpanitum are a revived force that with this Fidelium EP will certainly tickle the taste buds of anyone into this kind of domineering metal in the vein of The Monolith Deathcult and Mithras. The band's upcoming album just became much more eagerly anticipated.
You can hear the second track from Fidelium here and read an interview with the band here.
