Being And Nothing is an average album. It has a few tracks that rock my proverbial socks off; however, it is not a great album - it's the kind of album you would headbang to on a Saturday and forget by Sunday afternoon. The sound is not very original and the tracks are quite alike. The riffs stay the same, the blastbeats are continuous, and the vocals in every song are carbon copies.
That being said, this the album isn't entirely without good qualities. The guitars get it done with some tasty riffs. The drums pound in your head, and the vocals possess you into headbanging, but that effect wears off by the third track. It's a shame that Extreme Noise Terror ruined this album by making it a full-length, which is pretty sad because the album is only 31 minutes long. The songs are way too repetitive, and this is coming from a man who once listened to Nyan Cat for 16 hours straight. After you reach the third song you've pretty much heard the entire album. An excellent way to improve this release would have been to make it an EP, and cut down to 15 minutes or so. The album really needs some more pizzazz - maybe a solo or two? Or a drum beat change-up? Anything that would give this album a little variation would be greatly appreciated.
Overall I'd say it would be best to avoid this album, unless you can find it on the cheap; it's not worth its full price. Had this album been shorter I would have given it a much higher rating.
Highlights: "Non Believer Genocide" (for being the only song that's slightly different)
