I only know Dirge, Yob and Omega Massif. Will be going through the rest of the stuff soon. Thanks

Missed out on listening to most of these. Another one you'd enjoy is Bloodiest and you might like the latest album from Long Distance Calling. Also not sure if would fit here but Scale The Summit's latest was decent enough, some instrumental/progressive stuff.

Amia Venera Landscape's was a 2010 album, by the way. (Though actually I'm not sure if this is a list of new albums, or just stuff you discovered last year.)
Nice list, haven't heard nearly all of them.
Check out We Made God's It's Getting Colder. It's Icelandic post-rock with harsh vocals, which I guess makes it rather close to atmosludge or screamo bands like Envy. Pretty average stuff but still a pleasant listen. Also decent 2011 stuff: Lento, Tephra, Sólstafir, Obscure Sphinx, East Of The Wall.
You probably know them already, and decided they don't quite fit into this list, but really good sludgy stuff last year from Rwake, Indian, Subrosa, Orthodox and Tombs. And Terra Tenebrosa of course, but I think that goes way too far into a different aesthetic. There's also a bunch of post-rock albums, but I guess it's better to stick to this genre spread because post-rock blends far into alternative rock, chamber pop and drone on its other edges.
By the way! I forgot to recommend you this freaky post-hardcore/sludge/metalcore band earlier: Helms Alee. Don't remember the album name they released last year, but I rather enjoyed it. A pretty unique blend of stuff, kinda like Amia Venera Landscape but completely different in sound.

Ahhh, you got me on a technicality, it was released in December 2010 but didn't hear it till January. All the rest were released in 2011.
Thanks for the recs. Some I have heard, some I have heard of. I agree with the post-rock analysis. It is fast becoming over-saturated. Waaaaay too many to keep up with and not many of those stand above the rest. The ones on my list I thought did. I listened to ALOT of post-rock last year.

I think Obake - Obake could be a great addition to this list.

Oh, I didn't like it for some reason. I will revisit it some day now because of you

Well I thought you haven't checked it out. I don't even remember where I first found it myself.

You would be surprised how many post rock/metal/sludge/atmo albums I check out every year. I bet it's over 200, easily...

I used to check out so many post rock albums but then I shifted towards sludge and now I seem to be back on my former tracks listening to death/doom stuff, although I always appreciate good atmo/sludge/post stuff even if I'm not in a mood.
