Cruachan is back with a new full length, their fourth one so far. They're pretty know for mixing Irish Folk music with Heavy Metal, or a little something I like to call Folk Metal.
Yes, like it or not, Folk Metal is one of the leading sub-genres in Metal these days and labels around the world are focusing on exploiting the genre, mostly in countries that, like Ireland, have strong Folkloric traditions.

Another good Cruachan album, but this time there seems to be a bit more groove concerning the guitar work. It still thrashes with as much aggression as before, yet on songs such as the somewhat relaxed 'The march to Cluain Tairbh', there is more focus on the flow of the song rather than the heaviness of it. The regular musical style traditions are still here in spades though, as female vocals do seem to dominate, and folk instrumentation is still top priority. And 'Some say the Devil is dead' is just a barrel of fun.
