I might have given Diamond Plate's first full-length a bit too high of a score, but I did really enjoy it. Still throw it on occasionally. Won't be doing that with Pulse.

It's not from a lack of memorable riffs, they gave us a plethora of those here. Shaking the "meh" feeling throughout this thing is just too difficult.

Hey, how come Europe doesn't get physical copies of the album?

I really doubt that there won't be a physical release in Europe since the label Earache is of course EUropean.

Yes, I see it here but not on the band's site.

But on Earche's sit it says it will ONLY be released in digital form, so NOT only in Europe but all over the place.

I didn't know about Earache's site saying that. Although Century Media's distribution site are offering a CD version of the album (I've just checked), so I'm still pretty sure the USA is getting a CD release.

weird, that doesn't make sense that Earache would distribute their cd in the US through Century Media (which handles their distribution there) and not in Europe.
Looking at the announcement it could also mean that it will be available first as digital only release and later will be released in physical form.

I really hope it does mean that, since I prefer physical copies of albums over digital ones.

Was very much looking forward to this, finally got a chance to give it a "proper listen" last night, and I'm sadly disappointed. The music is great, love the music...but that new vocalist is trying so hard to sound thrash it kills the experience.

My thought exactly.

Vox is terribly off on this "could-be-a-great" record.

The more progressive, gradual songs on here hint at very early Meshuggah, but it's when the band go into thrashier territory that they fail miserably. Thankfully, 'Still dreaming', 'Rainmaker' and 'Persistence of memory' fare so much better.
