1. Exence - Tabula Rasa
2013 (who wants Chuck reanimated?)
2. Guillotine (IND) - The Cynic
2010 - India
3. Akaname - Akaname
2010 (instrumental)
4. Rex Mundi - Balance Between Madness And Hope
2007 - Greece
5. AraPacis - So Many Leapers
2006 (classic guitar, lyrics, and a voice that just won't quit)
6. Aleph - In Tenebra
2005 - Italy
7. Chaoswave - The White Noise Within
2005 (Lacuna Coil? less pop, more prog) (sadly it seems this band has split. Happy Birthday Giorgia!)
8. Demonic Resurrection - A Darkness Descends
2005 - India
9. The Aurora Project - Unspoken Words
2005 (they just released a new album - word on the street is, it's about as great as this)
10. Kekal - Acidity
2005 - Indonesia
11. Machine Called Man - 2.004
2005 (check out Imagika for more power/thrash/busy mix - they shared the same singer for their last 4 albums. This lone MCM album is, like 2002 BG, quite intense - but with a crunch and harshness thrown in rather than symphonics)
12. Arcturus - The Sham Mirrors
2002 - Norway
13. Aneurysm - Aware
2001 (go 'n' vote to add them to MS. http://www.metalstorm.net/bands/band_suggestions.php)
14. Economist - New Built Ghetto Status
1994 - Germany
15. IQ - Ever
1993 (heard of these guys? heard of Marillion? heard of... (the American)...)
16. Cathedral - There in the Shadows
1993 - USA
17. Anacrusis - Manic Impressions
1991 (I've only heard the demo but it kicks arse all over the univarse) - thrashy.
18. King Crimson - Three Of A Perfect Pair
1984 - UK wanky.
19. Jethro Tull - War Child
1974 (please, PLEASE get this with 7 bonus tracks (remastered 10yrs ago) - Sealion (+2) + Saturation = BOSS) - rocky. with a smidgeon or two of classical... gogo "Warchild Waltz" & "Quartet"
20. BOSS - "Go back to Kekal. For more. FOR MORE!"
21. King's X - Gretchen Goes To Nebraska
1989 - USA
22. Bereavement - The Advent Of Loss
2007 Scoring great reviews on MS and MA (http://www.metal-archives.com search *reavem* bands and go for the American near the bottom, that 85% i[nclude]s a bang-on description with mention of all the right bands: Opeth minus wank; MDB minus most of the doom) it seems (like with Dãm) we must be thankful for what we got, and waste no time regretting/lamenting the idea they may truly have no more to offer. AHWELL...

Just, look into 'em further should the words pique your interest so. Some - AraPacis & Kekal - you can get for free from the band's website. Some of 'em, like AraPacis & Guillotine are just waiting to be added in from the suggestions: 1, 2, 3, 5...

And, of course (usually) you can click an artist or album name to quickly find its style listed on MS, or perhaps a review where the relevant subgenre(s) [nickname(s)] might be found

Yea, I figured that most of these were prog barring one or two, but are these underrated/overlooked bands/albums? Just wondering why these specific ones

Just stuff running through my head around these days/mths. And yeah, they pretty much all could do with some more attention, bar Arcturus. Ultimate favourite AND overlooked/underrated would be what JT did after Thick as a Brick and before(/at the same time as) Warch
