Sickmark has a new 7", Powerviolence from Germany.

Soon as I heard the vocals I thought of this.

Sounds decent musically though.

yeah, Originality isn't highly revered in the powerviolence genre. Oh well, it's still fun to thrash around for usually under ten minutes

Nice EP. A very atmospheric and vaguely psychedelic blend of sludge with elements of black metal, post metal and doom, and great clean vocals.

Not exactly a fan of folk metal, but this is pretty good.

Infestum - pretty enjoyable black metal with unorthodox elements added to it, great production and memorable songwriting.



Surprised the new Hour of Penance hasn't been mentioned, its pretty damn good imo.

Found it! That's some heavy stuff! Doesn't get more darker than this.

New Wolves In The Throne Room.

So this sounds pretty awesome. Blackened doomy death metal, or some combination of the three. Oldchool sounding but also with some nice melodies, some of them even a bit folkish sounding.

Ok I know this has been posted somewhere, possibly on here. I thought it was in the 2013 one but I can't see it (pretty sure it's a 2014 release according to their facebook).

Pretty immense and massive sounding post-black-slash-post-metal-slash sludge. Way better than anything else I've heard recently from the general genre.

The chances of me listening to that are rather slim but damn, after only seeing it for a few seconds I can say I genuinely love that album artwork. it's really good. :O

It's a bit sexy.

Looks like the 2012 one was digital only. Probably for the best I didn't add it to my 2014 list then.

And they were never "Tempel", it was always "Temple"...I bet they just recently changed their band name too, I believe their is a *Temple* in the MS database.
