Laid down, closed my eyes and went on with this on a trip that proved to be a magnificent one. It was like an emotional tour throughout Nature. Goddamn I haven't been so emotionally moved by an album in a LOOONG LOOONG TIME!

I agree mate, it's pretty good album but a 10? Not too convinced, I hope it's a grower too..
After 6 spins I can safely say it's a grower. Like it a lot more. In fact, I enjoy it immensely now.
One of the best 2014 albums.

Believe me, it grows )
It surely does. First couple of spins were underwhelming to me, but after that, damn!

First 2 songs are awesome, too bad the rest of the album isn't that good.
Highly consistent album I'd say. Only the title track I like a bit less (though still good), but all the other songs are awesome.
Like more people here already say: it's a grower. So give it more spins.

"With the current into grey" is my favorite track. So Summoning-ish ! I love it.
Might be my favourite track as well, but Summoning-ish? Can't say I hear that, and I'm a huge Summoning fan.

I thought this album was terribly bland and boring the first listen, but holy shit is it a grower. This is also my first experience with Empyrium.
Indeed, it seems most people, including me, experience that this album is one hell of a grower.

Yup, its a grower. Now I think that first 3 songs are awesome and the rest isn't that good

I'll just say this: With the Current into Grey. Best song along with In The Gutter of this Spring. The only song that I like less, as I already said, is the title track. But it's still nice.

Yeah, it's a grower. My initial reaction would've been 7'ish, with Dead Winter Ways being a good song and the other ones average songs with some good parts.
but after a dozen listens, I love it. In the Gutter of This Spring is a song I fall asleep to every night. With The Current Into Grey is a song i completely ignored in my first few listens, but I love it now.
Also, the first track builds up so nicely. The instrumentation and composing is great throughout the whole album

The drumming/percussions and the heavy guitar riffs during the chorus made me feel Summoning atmosphere on this song.

I had forgotten how similar to Ian Curtis he sounds. I was pleasantly surprised. And I hate to repeat it, but it does sound like something I could learn to love a lot more in future.

Really? I haven't listened to the band in forever, and I don't remember this connection. I love Joy Division and post punk so maybe I'll spin this.

Well maybe not that much in this album. When he doesn't push too low, it's very similar yes. But you liking Joy Division won't guarantee you'll like Empyrium at all.

I almost forgot how beautiful the music of this band is. Definitely one of the most delightful albums for me this year.
My personal favourites: Saviour, Dead Winter Ways, The Days Before the Fall, With the Current into Grey.

They are all a bit different from one another but all very good. I think this is the least "metal" of their releases. Their live dvd/cd is also incredible.
