Vicious, timeless, and like a wall of fire that appears to dance in your eyes as it suffocates you, ...And So The Night Became does not just retell epic battles of mere mortals, it personifies the essence of chaotic warfare with the superiority of a pitiless, mocking god. The blood here is ancient, the mountains barren and severe, and the echoing screams of the dying is relentless. Throughout it all, it leaves you not only at the brink of crushing defeat, but with a nostalgic tear in your eye for all those who have perished before you.

The early Aeternus is tasty indeed. I like the previous album even more (also Dark Sorcery EP is awesome) but this is still one of the best blackened death I've heard.

is this album the kind of Blackened Death like Angelcorpse, or like Abyssal, Emptiness, Mitochondrion, etc.? I'm wondering if I would like this or not.

Better than all of those, and not really all that similar. It's very melodic at times, and uses some really interesting folk elements to further differentiate themselves from other acts (more so on Beyond The Wandering Moon). I think of it kind of as early Dissection with a death metal focus. Absolutely incredible stuff and I highly highly highly recommend you check this and the '97 album out!
