Wow, this is awesome and sounds powerful! There are a lot of subtleties in the original vocal performance that I loved that they captured again!

Finally! I knew Mike Howe was back, but I didn't knwo what I expected him to sound like now. He still got it!

There may yet be some hope for this band. I never liked Ronny Munroe, and all the material he was on was pretty stale to begin with. Mike is SOOOO much better at singing than Munroe that it's not even funny. I really hope they can do something right this time!

I'm not typically a fan of bands re-recording their own material; in those cases, they have to try extra hard to justify the song's existence. I wouldn't say that this fulfills the requirements, and considering that it's my favorite Metal Church song, I'm very content to let the original speak for itself.

That said, as far as I'm concerned, the primary purpose for this is to demonstrate that Mike Howe hasn't lost his touch over the years, and even if it doesn't measure up to the original, his voice still sounds very much intact. As long as this doesn't make the final cut of the new album (though I wouldn't object if it were just a bonus track), I'm satisfied with it as a testament to Mike's vocal skills, if not as a lead single for the next release; plus, as far as re-recordings go, it's decent enough. He's always been my favorite Metal Church vocalist, so this spells good news for me.
