Be'lakor - Part Ways With Drummer

Bad news keep rolling today! Australian melodic death metal machine Be'lakor have announced today the departure of their long time drummer Jimmy Vanden Broek, who has been with the band since their inception back in 2004. No replacement has been announced so far.

The band commented via their Facebook page: "We would like to let you guys know that after over a decade together, the band and Jimmy are amicably parting ways. Jimmy first joined Be'lakor in late 2004, and did a sterling job drumming on our first three albums. Jim also played with us on two European tours and many shows around Australia. Some great times were had, with many good memories. We remain good friends with Jim and can't wait to see what his next musical projects might hold."

Meanwhile, the band continues to work on their upcoming album scheduled for release on March 2016.

Having seen them live once, I remember being impressed with his drumming. Seemed so much better live than what you hear on the records.

That goes for the whole band if you ask me.

I'd agree with that. I saw them in Canberra, Australia back in the winter of 2012, not so long after their last album was released and I remember going home after the show and having much more of an appreciation of a few of the songs from that album having heard them live.

Yeah, I felt pretty much the same way after seeing them live.
Anyways, the drummer was indeed really good, so hopefully they'll get a worthy replacement.

The performance is good, but the sound is mediocre.

Damn that's disheartening...Jimmy was a perfect fit for the band. Although it probably goes unnoticed, he does a lot of polyrhythmic work. I hope that they find someone as talented as him.
