Which are some new bands that you have discovered in this style lately? I managed to unearth Seedna from Sweden which you can check it out here - https://seednametal.bandcamp.com/

Any recommendations would be helpful! Thanks!

I Find that Watain have a very cool, dark atmosphere and dont even get me started on cool their live shows look.
Although, they aren't super traditional black metal if thats what your're into.

Cheers!

I'm starting to get fed up with so many bands' and one-man project's approach to songwriting when it comes to this genre. At the risk of sounding downright blasphemous, much of atmospheric black metal seems to have become the power metal of black metal, with keyboards dominating and guitars doing almost nothing on countless albums. Atmospheric or not, black metal is still METAL, the guitars should come first and atmosphere should be earned the hard way, with interesting chords, chord progressions and with synths only complementing the atmosphere, not being solely responsible for it. When I listen to metal - any kind of metal - I want to hear some good riffs and most of the more popular atmoblack bands seem to lack those these days.

End of rant.

This is a great album.

Just listened to the whole thing for the first time, wasn't impressed. The first and last tracks are good, but the rest is pretty much the same thing over and over again and mostly unmemorable.

I've come to realize that quite a few times, but sadly this doesn't warrant it from my perspective.

I see. Sometimes it works, some other time - it doesn't.

Well, I bought this album immediately after first listen.
